(A) When pouring it was like a dark brown, but when it sits in the glass, its pretty black. Not much of a head, but there was one present.
(S) Smells pretty spicy. Decent amount of plum and other fruits. Some molasses or other sugary compound in there.
(T) Thankfully not as spicy as the nose. It's definitely fruity and the plum is as present in the taste as it is in the nose. Roasted malt character with a hint of dark cherry and molasses.
(M) Had a spicy bite up front. Decently carbonated and settled like a high carbonated saison.
(O) I was a bit surprised by this one. Didn't know what to expect, really. I'm glad it wasn't as spicy as the nose but it was still fruitier and spicier than I had anticipated.

So I stumbled upon this beer with a bb date of 9/10/2013 so I figured I better get to it. It has a deep brown color with a touch of red. Lots of fizzy bubbles. This smells a lot like a cola, no joke. Deep notes of sugary prunes and raisins, with hint of vanilla and nutmeg. That signature unibroue yeast aroma is there. The taste mimics the aroma fairly well, but there is a fruit tartness mixed in as well (possibly a sign this has beer has seen better days). I enjoyed this a lot more than I suspected. I've still got a couple 2011s so maybe I'll let one of those go for a few more years and see what happens.
