Nov. 2014: Shared bottle at local tasting, thanks to our beerpal Olav. ABV is 9.5%. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate white head. Surprisingly moderate aroma, some fruity and piney hops, stale marmalade and a little caramel and dust. Distinctly hoppy flavour throughout on a decent malty base, nice bitterness, well balanced.

Deep gold clear little head. Rich malt loads of sappy hops and almost a pilsnery malt presence. Active carbonation. And a dry, earthy finish. Like an IIPA had a baby with a big pils.
Malt is rich to the point of being a bit sticky, but otherwise solid.

Sweet aftertaste. Malty aroma, nothing more. But still has considerable bitterness and interesting caramel notes after some sips.

20 oz bottle from The Good Beer Store, Fryeburg ME. Pours a nice clear dark amber color with a big lacy head that stick around a while. Toffee and a little grassiness in the nose. Taste starts with lots of sweet malty toffee notes, then some citrus and pine, then the alcohol. Mouthfeel is heavy and smooth. I really like the balance of this beer, I can see where others would want more hoppiness.
