Pouring at room temp into a pint glass. Just got this from my buddy Ragingbull in a trade. Pours a bright clear copper hue with fluffy eggshell white head of 2 cm foaming up. Fades at a steady pace leaving some large lattice on the glass and creating some large craters in the foam. Relatively quickly gets to a sturdy surface layer.
Aroma is some grainy malt and hints of corn husk and caramel with some grassy hops and just a hint of pine sap.
First sip reveals an average body with very mild, smooth, rolling carbonation. Texture is soft and silky on each sip.The beer really caresses my palate.
The flavor is as nose advertises with some grainy malt going to caramel. Then come the hops, grassy and pine again come into play and bitter up my mouth a little, but actually give back to a husky grainy finish.
No hint of ABV which is good since the can says 5.6 and I shouldnt really be able to get that anywhere.
A nice easy drinking session beer in a can.
I like it!

Don’t usually like the smell or the taste of ambers in general but this one had amazing carbonation level and perfect light body of an ale so I did like it more then most ambers!

like a hoppier, drier, less sweet version of Fat Tire. Very drinkable

So far I have loved Caldera for what they brewed, an Oregon pride of beers for sure. Hands down I had to get this amber ale from them.
It looks amazing, just look at that dark golden amber, nomen est omen! Smells also pretty heavily hopped and the taste follows. However I feel slightly letdown by the sort of wateriness of its feel, I would expect something denser, thicker, more intensive. In the nose it is much more caramellized, more round though and the taste sets out to be just the same - but somehow dies down half way. I couldn't figure out its best before date, could it have expired? No idea...
But even still, even as it was, it is still an outstanding red ale with superior quality. Caldera rules, Oregon quality!

The appearance was a slight clear amber color with a slight transparency about it. One finger white foamy head dissipated within less than about forty seconds. Light lacing trickles into its body. The smell was a sweet caramel malt with a slight crisp citrus hops underneath. The taste was balanced between the sweet malts and the bitter citrus hops. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a slight sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed decent for the style and for me. Overall, I say this was a decent Amber ale I could go at again.

I was surprised to find this listed as a “red ale” as I would consider it more of a pale ale with extra hoppiness. It pours a nice light amber color with a good two finger head and moderate lacing. A little bitter with good carbonation. You can really taste the barley and hops. A good refreshing summer beer.

Amber beer pours an amber color, prolly a slight bit darker than your average SRM for style. Dropped good clarity and a head over a full inch.

Taste dropped some nice c hops with the amber malts. Plenty of caramel, slightly above average hopping for style. More than just bitterness, imparts some woodsiness hop flavor. Above average overall. Bitter, lively carbonation that keeps it from seeming too malty like some reds/ambers can do.
