I was given this beer by an acquaintance. I used a tulip glass; the temperature was 46 degrees. The pour created a frothy and airy one-fingered tan head with excellent retention. The slow dissipation left little lacing on the glass. The color chart around SRM 36, dark oily brown, nearly black. I have never had any beer from this brewery, but the appearance is above average.
I smell bourbon, oak, toffee molasses, chocolate, and coffee for the first whiff. Nosing further, I detect caramel, toffee, char, dark roasted malts, bread crust, Maillard, soy sauce, raisin, figs, and leather earthiness. The beer's aromas are kind of similar to Dark Lord.
The flavor is chocolate, medium roasted malts, molasses, oak, bourbon, bready, char, Maillard, raisin, leather, tobacco, dark roasted malts, caramel, toffee, floral, herbal, and earthiness.
The mouthfeel is chewy and thick. The body is medium, low carbonation, and long-lasting finish.
This beer has a load of flavors in it. I was surprised by how much complexity the beer has. I have never heard of this brewery but this beer is stellar. It holds up to the bigger name breweries. I loved this beer!

This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a black color with a slim finger’s off white to tan head. The smell starts off with milk chocolate, big and roasty and sticky sweet, meshing with roasty coffee beans. Subtle marshmallow creeps in to balance. The taste follows the smell nicely. A healthy amount of balanced roasty to sweet stickiness. Sticky sweet cocoa aftertaste runs into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with a nice sessionable feel about it (guessing because of the age, this smoothed out the way it did). Overall, pretty nice imperial stout that I would have again. Hopefully get to try fresher some day.

Bottle shared at home. Very dark ruby-brown pour with a tall tan head with decent retention, that eventually gives way to a sticky lacing. Notes of roasted malts, smoke, dark chocolate, cocoa, molasses. Medium to full bodied, low carbonation and a roasty bitter-sweet finish.

I wasn't expecting much from this beer. 8.8% ABV.
Pours pitch black with a tan, mocha head. Lingering lacing covers the glass.
Smell is rich with tons of roasted malt, dark chocolate, plums and figs. The taste is all covered in dark chocolate but with a sweet malty finish that balances all very nice. Some warm alcohol accentuates a milky mouthfeel.
Very nicely done, refreshing and easy to drink Imperial Stout.

Pours an opaque dark brown color with khaki colored head. Roasted malt, chocolate, earthiness, and some leather on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied. Finishes with chocolate and roast.

Pours opaque, black in color, with minimal head. Taste is cocoa, dark chocolate, and roasted malt. Medium-heavy bodied, sweet, and roasty. Above average stout that is tasty but nothing I would go out of my way for.
