Served @ 55deg in snifter. Not sure of bottle date.

Really interesting smell, chocolate for sure, but other smells harder to describe. Don't get much oak or alcohol in scent or taste.

Really enjoyed this creamy chocolaty porter. Wish I had access to this in Illinois... I'd make it a regular. Prost!

This beer is a chocolate bomb, no barrel whatsover. Thin mouthful as well. If you are looking for a very sweet chocolate imperial porter this is for you

All over the place. Chocolate bomb however. Look is phenomenal but the scent is a chocolate char. Taste is the same. No overly bitter. No barrel character what so ever. Woof. Maybe I was expecting a stout..idk.

Pours a dark brown with a coffee colored head. Smell and flavors are of chocolate, roasted malt, oak, and more chocolate. Overall a balanced and creamy Porter.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter. The smell and taste are both fantastic with a ton of chocolate and oak. The mouthfeel is incredible with a nice thick silky feel and a perfect amount of carbonation. Overall, a great brew!

Dark pour, almost an inch of light brown head. Chocolate, oak, burned sugar aromas.

Taste was dark chocolate, smooth, chewy and stands in strong opposition to any alcohol in the mouthfeel. Stays away from too heavy roast or bitter flavors. Definitely tell there is probably added chocolate, not just chocolate malt on this one.

Very dark brown with little head retention. Chocolate dominates the nose. Oakiness combines with the chocolate on the tongue. This is damn near a desert except that sugar is kept in check. Heavier body and bitter finish with moderate carbonation.

22oz bottle. 2015 batch.

A: Dark brown. Poured 3 fingers high of head, moderate retention.
S: Intense hazelnut chocolate. Toasted nuts. Slightly vanilla. Slightly woody. Hints of grass.
T: Intense chocolate. Vanilla. Moderate sweetness. Medium bitterness. Finish is bittering like coffee, with some herbal/grassy flavors.
M: Full bodied. Moderate carbonation.
O: What can I say!? This porter is fucking good. The aroma is so intense and feeling natural. The flavor is so strong, delicious, complex, and balanced. The most thing for me is, it is not way too sweet, so quite drinkable.

Pours a dark chestnut brown color that appears pitch black and opaque in the glass with a two finger beige head that quickly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind.

Slightly smokey roasted dark malt aroma with subtle oak presence that's nicely integrated into the other notes. Light char/toothpick but not harsh or overpowering. No spirit so must be virgin oak or oak chips. Nice roast with light coffee bean, toasted peanut and dark chxoolate. Subtle fudge/dessert-like sweetness.

Fuller end of medium body with subtle oak presence countered by a well balanced, complex malt bill. Earthy oak and faint dry toothpick character but it's not harsh or overwhelming. Decent amount of roast with gourmet coffee bean, oatmeal, bittersweet dark chocolate and roasted nuts. The roasted nut presence is pretty strong giving off an almost peanut butter flavor. Kind of reminds me of Funky Buddha's Don't Tell Reese. Sweet lighter malts provide some needed balance with hints of caramel, toffee, fudge and flourless chocolate cake. Bitterness lingering in the finish. Could use a touch more sweetness but overall this beer has really nice balance of oak, roast and sweet malt.
