Poured to a pilsener glass.

A: The body is yellow and very crisp. The head shows optimal retention, average lacing and a good one finger thickness.
S: The aroma has some expressive maltiness but in the back there's a very little touch of resin and a even smaller citrus profile. It does smell more like a fainted APA than a Session IPA. It's weird.
T: The taste starts with a blood orange-like profile before getting a slight resin profile. In the end, everything goes wrong with a very weak bitterness and almost no flavour at all, a very empty beer to the end of the sip.
M: Body is medium low. Carbonation is high and harsh. Alcohol is gladly unnoticed. Bitterness is very weak and green.
O: Not a good Session IPA for me. Thanks but I'll pass.

Pours a clear golden blonde colour, 1.5 fingers of white head and some lace. Smell has some lightly fruity hops, some citrus with lemon and grapefruit zest, malt is minimal but leaves the impression of biscuit though. Taste is lemony and grassy hops, light upfront bitterness, a light lingering citrus fruit finish. Lightly carbonated, dry with a medium-light body. Pretty forgettable, its drinkable but thats about it.

Got this one from the LCBO this past summer. This is labeled as a Session IPA.

From a bottle into a snifter
IBU: 21

APPEARANCE: Pours a medium looking, creamy and fluffy, 2+ finger bright white head with excellent retention. Clear light amber yellow in color with lower levels of carbonation. Head slowly fades to a full foamy cap. A splotchy wisp remains until the end and leaves some foamy lacing down the glass.

SMELL: Definite pine on the nose, with some lemon and grapefruit notes. A bit of melon as well. Medium in strength.

TASTE: Piney and spicy hop flavors up front. Not much sweetness or malt character at all. More piney and grassy hops at the swallow with a medium but lingering finish of piney bitterness, bready malts, grassy notes and a bit of hay. Bready, piney hay and enough bitterness.

PALATE: Medium body and slightly higher levels of carbonation. Light and a touch foamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes quite dry. Some minor bitterness lingers.

OVERALL: This is alright. Bready and rather bitter, despite the lower IBUs. The flavor doesn’t really follow the aroma per se, but it’s enjoyable and rather pleasant to look at. Worth checking out on a warm summer day.

L: Clear golden color, one finger white head, nice lacing, minimum carbonation.

S: Malts, bread.

T: Dry, sour, very malty, bitter.

F: Not the greatest mouthfeel. The combination of carbonation and maltiness is not right for my palate.

O: It's not bad but certainly not a beer I would try again.

No mention of this being a wheat beer on the can. I think they might have tweaked the recipe for this brand and it' now a Session IPA.

Pours super clear light copper with a few huge carbonation bubbles and a big crackly head. Bready malt, fruity English yeast esters and some piney hops in the back in the nose. Caramel malts, butterscotch and cookie dough mix with coarse hop bitterness in the taste. Mouthcoating mouthfeel with sparse carbonation. The finish is sweet and lightly bitter.

A mediocre Session IPA - too sweet and lacking in hop dimension. I wouldn't recommend.

Super beautiful beer once in a glass. The color is nice and you cannot see trough. The odor is nice and attractive. the taste have a really pronounce taste of hop, a little bit to much for me.

I start to like a little bit more the hop taste out of a beer.

This 3.8% ABV beer have a 36 IBU.

The bottle of 355 ml was retailed for 2.95$ CD.

355ml bottle served cool into a pint glass. Purchased out of the singles bin at the LCBO for around $2.30 CDN.

Appearance - slightly cloudy rich golden coloured beer. A half finger of fluffy white head is poured and lingers for a bit. Some minimal lacing left behind.

Smell - impressively hoppy, with plenty of citrus and a few pine notes. Also a heavy wheat like malt with some caramel and an astringency usually associated with APAs and IPAs.

Taste - mild bitterness, creamy wheat flavours, some lingering earthy bitterness. Basically a well hopped sessionable APA with lots of wheaty goodness.

Mouthfeel - smooth creamy, just enough bitterness and carbonation to cause the tongue to tingle. Light body as well. Dry finish.

Overall - the Genius of Surburbia is an impressive pale wheat with good and bold hoppy flavours, light body but a resounding creaminess makes this a unique splendour to be enjoyed.
