Thanks to TheSevenDuffs for this one.
Poured from a 355ml. bottle, bottled Aug. 17, 2011.
Appearance: A rather clear, orange-amber body but the beauty is the head. Easily 4 fingers that last a while, bubbles a bit and leaves chunks of lacing on the glass.
Smell: A smattering of resiny hops with melon, orange and grapefruit. Not very bitter, more on the sweet side.
Taste: Nice initial bitterness that doesn't last long before the malt takes over. Still a nice kick though. Juicy orange & grapefruit are present as well as a hint of minerals in the back.
Mouthfeel: At first, the bitterness seems to be short-lived but comes back after the sip and sticks around on the palate. Strong in the front and middle, could be better in the finish but still great.
Overall: Not aggressive but does have the bitterness. Worth checking out for sure.

A- Pours a pretty clear dark amber color, with background shades of red, copper, and wildflower honey....the head is white in color, short and sweet, initially starting out maybe a half finger in thickness, and settling down into a very wispy looking ring around the inside of the glass and it happens fast. The carbonation is subdued upon appearance and the lacing is ok, with a thin white layer desperately trying to cling to the glass, however it is somewhat watery and slides back towards the liquid fast.
S- There is a decent amount of hoppy bitterness on the nose, but also at the same time, a heavy malt presence to balance the aromas out. Crisp pine needles, a bit of juniper berry and leaf extract are balanced out by vanilla, toffee like malt sweetness, muted milk chocolate and dark rye bread. The finish seems clean and hopped....nothing much else to say.....overall it isn't as strong as I thought and also sweeter than anticipated....lets see what it tastes like!
T- The flavors are much more bitter than the aromas let on, however, with that said, it is still not what I expected, which may be a good thing. The malt sweetness is fairly pronounced and while I'm glad that it isn't nearly as bitter as I thought it would be, I don't think this a great version of an IPA flavor wise....too much toffee/caramel malt sweetness, vanilla and bread like richness and a finish that is pretty flabby.
M/O- The body is medium and the carbonation is fairly mild overall, providing a beer that is flavorful, and really resembles more of an English Pale Ale, rather than a hop bomb. It is drinkable enough and I don't mind it, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way for it either.....give it a try and see what you think? Its fine, but yeah, kind of meh for the style....

Disappointing. Didn’t see a canned date so don’t know how old this beer was but it seemed like the hops were overwhelmed by the malt. Pours an amber color with some fluffy white head and some spotty lingering lacing. Smells rather faintly of some piney hops, malt, caramel, vanilla and bread. Taste follows the nose, but again the overwhelming sense was of malt and maybe some bread, much less of the hops. Mild, decent, smooth mouthfeel and good carbonation. Would likely not try again.

Very pine forward IPA. Perfectly hopped and nice level of carbonation. Enjoyed this one on a memorable vacation night in toronto and it was the perfect choice.

Yeah, there's a lot of hop in there, but the bitterness and pine are the main contribution. I've grown to prefer those which coax out the nicer, fruity flavours of the hops.

Poured from a standard 473 ml Canadian pint can. It's Good, but not really great. Frankly, I expected a lot more hop flavor/bitterness with the 72 ibu. This beer is surprisingly smooth.

It is a nice citrusy malty IPA. Not exactly a IPA hoppy bomb. But it is good.

The other Flying Monkey (Juicy Ass) was much better IMHO. After that one being that unique, juicy and tasty, this one is quite an average with lots of malt and hop bitterness. Not BAD at all of course, quite well crafted that I can tell but somehow not an outstanding piece, quite like one out of many. Flying Monkey could do much better.

I thought this was inoffensive and generally OK. Had it in Buda so it was quite flat. Unsure if beer or location. Kept below 150 for said reason.
