Solid Canadian hoppy IPA....not as "hoppy" as I prefer generally and a bit uninspired, but overall very nice. Love the marketing/packaging (which I admit I am a sucker for) and glad I tried

12oz bottle, no apparent freshness date. Imported from Canada - my home country. I hope it's good.
A - deep amber/copper colored ale with a tall, rocky, ivory colored head that holds excellent retention and eventually fades to a thick foam
S - caramel malt mixed with some juicy & tropical Citra hops
T - big citrus burst of Citra hops with notes of mandarin orange zest, mango, and pine; heavy caramel malt backbone with a possible hint of rye malt in there.
M - full body, pleasant carbonation, finishing bitter and dry with earthy pine lingering on the palate
O - well this did not disappoint. Aroma seemed lacking, but otherwise a really solid IPA. I'm curious to know how fresh this is. Nothing wrong with it by any means, but a nice fresh dry hop would help the aroma a lot.

12 oz bottle, with "Bottled" on dating etched onto the label.

NIce looking pour, rich, darker amber, sturdy khaki cap, leaves larger bubble, froth, and low sheeting.

Resiny pine and citric hop nose.

Sturdy IPA, with more then ample hop flourishes..and a nice smooth malt base providing the balance...worthy IPA

Great amber colour, good head and lacing. Strong hop/malt/rye smell, especially as it warmed up. Was expecting it to be more bitter, more complex, given the description. It's got bite which refreshes, but wanting more complexity and maybe more carbonation (it's the summer currently, so could be biased).

Amber colour, big head that fades leaving ring and lace. Aroma of resines, fruits, chocolate, caramel. Medium body, good carbonation. Taste of caramel, chocolate, resines, herbs, fruits, citrus. Not so bitter as one can expect, good balance between the sourness and the sweetness.

Decent IPA and enjoyed at the lake. Bought a six pack annoyed all of them. Nice mouth feel and taste. Nice end of day beer after a fun filled day. Nice feel and finish and good aroma.

A: [3.50] Cloudy and dull tan color. The beer has almost 1 finger of white head. The head recedes quickly but leaves a nice curtain of lacing on the glass. They list the ABV (6.0%) and the IBUs (72) but I can't find a date anywhere.

S: [2.75] Chocolate, caramel, burnt caramel, The burnt caramel lingers and is not great.

T: [2.75] Slight rust flavor. Followed by regular metallic flavor. There is also some reddeming flavor in the malts. Brown sugar, maple syrup.

M: [2.25] Medium body with low carbonation which makes it feel flat. The flat/under carbonated feeling really detracts further from the beer.

O: [2.50] With no date there is no way to tell how old this is. I had this one other time during a tasting (so I assume it was fresh) and I don't recall it being this much of a turn off. Hey, their fault for not using dates - I rate what is on the shelf. The nose and the taste are not good. The have weird off notes that seem to dominate the beer. The lack of carbonation exacerbates this and just makes the whole thing not worth it.

355ml bottle.

Orange gold with large head. No perceptible lacing. Mild biscuit and citrus aromas. Orange rind dominates, and punches you with a dry bitterness that is slightly off-putting. Dry and finishes very quickly. They should paint a big white stripe up the label of this one as it is the dictionary definition of "middle-of-the-road."

Smell: grapefruit, citrus peel, caramel, bit of funk when swirled in the glass. Taste: starts sweet, orange rind, soft carbonation, hint of melon. Finish: pine resin bitterness takes over and finishes very dry. (bottled 03/20/16)

From 2d2despuma. In Tekug glass. After dinner, extracting beer labels. All I expect in an IPA: great smell and tasty bitterness not overwhelming and without unpleasant fruity profile

Appearance - This beer has an epic "psychedelic" label and "may the beer be with you" stamped on the back of the cap lol, It pours a dark semi hazy copper color with a finger of white foamy head that fades quick leaving a thick film

Aroma - Grapefruit, orange peel, some lemon zest, some pine, earthyness, toffee and caramel malts.

Flavor - At first you get grapefruit, orange peel and lemon followed quickly by a swift pine bitterness, some caramel and toffee notes a little brown sugar then the sweetness dissapears and the beer finishes really bitter.

Feel -this beer has a nice medium body, with some lighly prickly carbonation, finishes bitter. not bad

Overall - This is a decent IPA, design wise I love the bottle and the beer itself is pretty good. I have a personal preference for more citrusy ipas and the pine takes over in this one. but overall its one of the better pine IPA's ive tried.

The Smashbomb is a typical IPA that one would get from Eastern Canada....more English style than awesome USA west coast style. The beer poured a rich copper with thin white head than is leaving a spotty lace. The scent is very bitter. The taste is fairly well balanced, but bitter enough to know your IPA'ing it. The mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall its ok.

Pours a copper color with a finger of fluffy head. The nose is piney and hoppy. There is not much maltiness to this offering but the hop finish was decent. The body was average for the style.

Clear orange color with off-white head. Classic west coast style hoppy aroma. Resiny, earthy and citrusy. Taste follows with the same notes, not bitter at first but builds up towards the finish. You get oranges at first and grapefruit in the aftertaste. Smooth body with very nice carbonation. Really easy to drink and well done IPA.

Lots of dried tea notes on the nose and palate. Very earthy, herbal hop character, backed by a strong bitterness of pine. Much different than the fruity/tropical IPAs IMO. A nice IPA from these guys!

I had this beer in a 20 oz pint glass at a bar in Toronto called Stack, which is located north of Lawrence subway station.

Look: The body has the same colour as a dark honey, is slightly transparent and has a white one-finger head. This IPA has an excellent head retention as it recedes to a thin white layer that covers nearly all of the drink. All in all, I love the lacings as well as the traces of foam the beer leaves on the glass as it is consumed.

Smell: The pine woods are subtly in the background while the notes of lemon complement those of orange zests and even a few tropical fruits.

Taste: The palate makes a quick transition from its fruits to the pine woods.

Feel: There is a little bit of creaminess as a small quantity of the beer stays in the mouth. Moreover, this is the first IPA I have tried which keeps the notes of pine woods mostly intact whilst the beer is in the throat and the solar plexus.

Overall: This is the best IPA from Canada I have drunk when it comes to the after taste. Smashbomb Atomic IPA stands out because of its look and its lasting aftertaste of pine woods. Unfortunately, as others pointed out, the fruity notes were too brief considering that this is an IPA. I would regularly buy this beer despite a minor flaw.

big nose of citrus and pine, plenty of malt to stand on, finishes slighty peppery and bitter. A Canadian hop bomb that can quench the thirst of a freindly neighbor to the south.

Serving Type:355 mL Bottle

A- Deep Amber colour with a 2 finger off-white head with excellent retention. Lots of lacing on the glass.

S- Tropical fruit (guava, passion fruit) and grapefruit from the hops dominate the aroma.

T- Same as aroma but with an extremely bitter finish. More bitter than a lot of DIPA's that I've had. Tasty but only in small hauls.

M- Medium Body and Moderate Carbonation.

O- An excellent example of a Citra Hop IPA. Beautiful tropical fruit and citrus flavours come through but this brew seems to have an overly bitter finish. Still a great brew but could be so much better with a slightly less bitter finish.

355ml bottle. Bottled on 2015-04-17.

A: Clear amber. Poured a lot of foam, medium retention.
S: Pineapple. Moderate citrus. Slightly piney.
T: Pineapple and grapefruit. Toasted malty. A touch of sweetness. Medium high bitterness. Pretty rich in flavors.
M: Moderate body. Medium carbonation, refreshing but not sharp.
O: Great IPA. Drinkink it second time at non-fresh date, but it's rather good and rich.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a plastic pint cup, this beer pours a medium to dark, clear, amber color with a slightly off white head about an inch thick when first poured that settles down a bit, and when it does settle down there are clumpy swirly mounds of foam that are sticking up on the beer's surface. Thy eventually settle down. Good lacing. Strong cirrus hop aromas along with toasted, biscuity malt notes. The taste is pretty much the same, with a nice citrus, resinous hop bitterness upfront that gives way to biscuity, caramel malt sweetness. Good balance of flavors, but the hop bitterness does tend to dominate a bit. Has a slightly crisp, but mostly very smooth, creamy, frothy medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Easy to drink in the good way. A pretty solid IPA here all around.

Pours a dark copper color with frothy half inch head. Aroma is all hops. Goes down a little harsh, extremely bitter. This amount of bitterness is more expected from a Double IPA. A little too bitter for my tastes. There are better America IPA's out there.

Pours a dark copper bordering amber. Sticky lacing is left behind from a froth that recedes to a film. The smell is hoppy with some toffee aroma from malts.

In the taste, resin, pine and dank herb. Sweetness checks in briefly before subsiding and the ale has grapefruit rind throughout. Bright and hoppy, but not super tropical. This is just a well made, earthy, piney, dank IPA. Fresh tasting and lively on the palate, Smashbomb Atomic IPA is quite satisfying.

Full bodied, smooth, well carbonated. Resins coat the tongue nicely and the hop flavor does not want to let go. I would recommend this to IPA drinkers.

Smooth def no punch you in the face hop taste as the bottle might make you think. Very good IPA for those that don't like hoppy super bitter beers. Solid citrus tastes somewhere in there. Worth a try for sure!
