I've been here a few times and it's always the same story. Fairly large beer draft/bottle list, just better than average food, and a waitstaff that isn't really concerned about your service. My wife and I most recently went in on a Saturday night in bad weather. The place was packed and it took us a few minutes to get a table. Football was on every TV, the music was blaring, and we had a hell of a time communicating. They some decent locals on tap, but there wasn't anything too impressive; it's pretty much a "don't rock the boat" selection. They had Left Hand Milk Stout and Rogue Mocha Porter in bottles so that's what I enjoyed. My wife and I both had burgers and fries which were OK, but nothing great. I would have been more willing to order a few more drinks if it didn't take our waitress 20 minutes to check on us every time. We eventually got thoroughly frustrated and left for another bar.

Fox and Hound is a chain "pub". Where "pub", apparently, is a place with more TVs than waitstaff. Basically, a bar and grill with a vague English theme. Certainly no one involved has ever seen an English pub, or at least not actually tried to emulate one. It also has music blaring loud enough that you can't actually hold a conversation. The food is mediocre. The entrees are about the price you'd expect at such a place: $8 for a sandwich to $18 for a slab of meat. My wife and I both had the same sandwich and a few hours later, we both feel ill. There is a vaguely decent selection of beer on tap, but I don't think the bartenders know how to pour. Don't order anything that requires more than a squirt out of a nozzle. The only positive thing I can think of to say is that the appetizers are actually sized for normal people and priced similarly. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

atmosphere: Eh. Two rooms...a large barroom with many tables and televisions, and a smaller dining room with about 10 tables and five booths. Went there on a Sunday so most of the crowd was there to watch one game or another. Pretty generic restaurant decor.
quality: The Carolina Pale Ale I had tasted very fresh.
service: Horrible waitress. Never a smile, very short and dry in her interactions with the table. Never asked if I wanted another beer. Seemed like she hated being there.
selection: Not too much of a selection. I was between Carolina Pale Ale and one of the two Edenton selections (Uncle Nuts and Horniblow's). There were a few other widespread micros, and the expected macros and imports.
food: I ordered the brisket entree. The brisket itself was pretty good, but the baked beans were awesome.

Surprised to find this place in the database. Just perusing the database for bars in my new 'hood and saw this place listed. Actually went there last night for dinner and to watch some football. sports bar atmosphere with a large bar and bar area. Too many TVs to count--one of the folks in my party wanted to watch college football. Service was slow as molasses whcih was very annoying but they did give me the last pint of Sam Summer when the keg kicked. Tap selection was a step above abysmal but they made a nice save from despair with the bottle selection. However, with that atmosphere I would nto gamble with the freshness of anything--except for macros-in a bottle. Food was merely average--typical corporate chain restauarant quality. will go back, but mostly because of all the TVs.
