100+ IBU, lots of maltiness and 8%+ ABV! A very tasty full flavored ale. It has earned the tag line “Watch out for the Warrior!” This one costs more for your own protection!

On tap at the brewpub in Watkins Glen, NY. Pours a slightly hazy deep amber with a persistent off-white head. Initial impression is caramel and some pine, with a very subtle citrus undertone. Mouthfeel is medium-light, as is carbonation. Finish is slightly bitter and slightly dry. Definitely not DIPA-league in the hops department, but not awful either.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
L: Clear golden amber pour. Massive foamy white head. Crazy lacing.
S: More malty than hops... some resin and pine.
T/F: Caramel malts.... bitter pine and resin. Very light on the citrus. Herbal... almost medicinal. Astringent. Finish is bitter and again medicinal. Slightly unpleasant aftertaste. Medium to light bodied and overcarbonated.
O: A pretty mediocre DIPA. Good bitterness... without great hop flavor. Overall not one I'd pick up again.

Couldn't tell it was an imperial. Kind of bitter without the malt. Not much body. Wouldn't get it again.

Had on tap at Wildcate. This beer pours a murky golden orange with a 1 finger white head. There is very little retention, but tons of sheets of lacing. Smell reminds me of SNPA in the fact that there are piney hops, but not overwelming. There is a sweet and bready malt presence too. Taste is the same with moderate bitterness and no trace of the alcohol. Feel is medium, crisp and very clean. Overall this is a very well balanced DIPA and a pretty solid offering.

Not their best effort, but worth trying especially at their brew pub. Specials are usually available.
