Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color, with a very thin white head that fades very quickly and leaves very little lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains pungent malts, lager yeast and a very touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of lager yeast, grain and a thin malt character. Then some mild malt sweetness comes in. The hops presence is very mild there is not much balance. The after-taste is slightly bready.

M: Crisp but not very smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Not very flavorful, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, typical representation of style, this is not a very good beer.

Checking off Greece. From a bottle marked best before 8/2017. Pale amber color and a finger of white head. Skunky smell. Light feel. Sweet grainy taste. Too sweet, really, more like a breakfast cereal than a beer.

From the green bottle date 09/2016. Sampled on February 8, 2017.

The color of the beer is about right for the style with a copper-amber-yellow tone and a fizzy white head.

Green bottle skunkiness kicks in more than some I have tried. But once I get beyond that I get white bread, corn oil, and a grassy hop character. Still the skunk character is just too much.

Light body.

The taste has a bready and mildly sweet character with a minor bitter ending.

I am really working to eradicate the bottle backlog here at Chez Woody! This one came to me as part of a recent drop-off/drop-by from/with my local, in-person trader, tone77. I just hope that I enjoy it as much as he did!

From the bottle: "Premium Quality Hellenic Beer".

I Pop!ped the cap in a most loving way as I have always liked the Greeks. My pour was equally gentle as I fantasized about my platter at the upcoming 58th Annual Greek Food Bazaar on 05 & 06 November 2016 here in Lancaster, PA. Yiaprakia, moussaka, pastitsio, galaktoboureko and tsoureki are all on the menu! I watched as two fingers of puffy, foamy, bone-white head arose in memory of Pat "Mr. Haz" Hazatones, my high school Chemistry teacher, before falling to become a memory. Color was Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, the same color as the leaf and filigree on many of the icons inside the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church at 64 Hershey Avenue here in Lancaster, PA. This brought forth The Gelt Gang of Croesus, Midas & Mammon, but for once they were respectful, taking turns and passing the chalice with bowed heads in humble silence. Nose was very grassy with some cattiness, kind of like my HomeEc kitchen in high school. A couple of stoners and a couple of Greeks and not everyone got along famously. Mouthfeel was light, airy, like phyllo dough that will be used for he baklava that I will have for dessert, along with some of the strong black coffee. No alcohol on the premises, though. 8=( The taste was bready, slightly grassy & very tasty. Finish was semi-sweet, a nice, refreshing example of the style. The approved pic makes it appear that it also comes in CANs, so I will have to keep my eye out for one.

Best before 07/17, so I assume fresh-ish?

A: Pours a clear straw color with a huge effervescent white head. Great head retention that barely wants to budge. Tons of thin lacing everywhere forming a nearly complete wall.

S: Cereal grains and a light sulfur.

T: Sweet cereal grains up front and throughout for that matter. A light sulfur on the back end but nothing bad. Pretty much completely inoffensive, really. Just a hint of caramel sweetness.

M: Light-medium bodied.

O: Quite frankly, not bad. It's sweet and PURELY one-note but there's nothing disgusting about it like most of these generic brews. Basically as inoffensive a beer as you could hope for. For better or worse.

Half litre can, poured into pint glass.

A: Clear, golden, looked lively, decent sized head which left quite a bit of lacing.

S: Rice and corn syrup.

T: Malt forward, notes of sharp apple.

M: Fairly light and crispy, well carbonated.

O: A hot weather Euro lager, nothing offensive, good for what it was.
