The smell is very malty with some roasted notes. There are some sour flavours and a strong sweetness. Some chemical bitter flavours and a hint of nutmeg and ginger.
The colour is red-brown (40 EBC), the liquid clear. The two finger head is warm beige and compact. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing.
The taste is sweet and malty with some mild bitter flavours. Hints of flowers, dried fruits, sweet loaf and strawberries. Almost full bodied. The aftertaste is rather light with some dry malty flavours a light clean bitterness, a sweet hint of fresh apples and roasted barley.
The carbonation is medium strong; the bubbles medium sized. The liquid is semi-smooth.
I had this beer in 2004 and I gave it 1,95. This is a much better beer, they mush have changed the recipe over those years.

Feb. 2010: 500 ml brown bottle, as Pripps Jul, from Systembolaget post-Christmas 2009. ABV is 5.0%. Mahogany coloured beer, big off-white beige head. Sweetish fruity aroma, also notes of caramel malts, hints of Christmas spices. The flavour has notes of münchener and caramel malts, baked goods, sweet and slightly spicy, also with a certain fruitiness. Very moderate hops in the finish. Overall surprisingly decent for a beer from Pripps / Carlsberg Sweden.

A: This beer pours reddish brown with a medium large tan creamy head. Only some lacings.
S: Faint and artificial. Unbalanced sweet malt with only faint notes of bitter hops. A kind of metallic off-smell.
T: Corn up front, then there's sweet malt, and very faint bitter hops. The metallic off-smell stays in the taste. Artificial and unbalanced.
M: A kind of creamy lingering aftertaste with only some sweetness and no bitterness (this is a bad thing). Body is medium as well as carbonation.
D: I've had quite a few different x-mas-beers this year. This is the least drinkable yet. I can't find any reason for buying and drinking this one - AVOID!

The beer pours with a beige foam that quickly resides leaving little marks on the glass. The color is dark amber/brown.
The smell is weak and mainly dominated by sweet tones, like candid sugar, some malt and a metallic presence.
The taste is very much dominated by a bit too much sweetness and a metallic feel. A quickly receding bitterness is noted when swallowing.
The liquid is rather carbonated and gives a soda feeling (like "julmust" - a sweet typical Swedish malt non-alcoholic soda).
