Stopped here during St. Patty's day.

It is located in a inner burb off a main drag. The building outside is unassuming. The inside is the typical brewpub, with brass, wood, brick and fermentation vessal cased in glass.

The service was outstanding. They met me right away introduced themselves and shook my hand. I had 2 servers do this at the bar. It seemed a bit like the BJ's chain, but I like the formula! When I asked what is the one beer I should try, he asked if I liked hops (with a positive repsonse) he poured me Hoptimus Prime. Which almosted seemeded like a single Simcoe Hop IPA. A bit too much celery and soap, but good none the less.

They did seem to have an interesting selection of beers for a fair price.

In short, I liked the vibe and it was easy to get to. Check it out if you are in the area.

Easy to miss driving by unless you have it programmed in your maps app on your phone. Long building with brewing equipment flanking the front doors and you're greeted by the bar just behind the greeter/seater podium. It was very loud when I was there, but the food was really good and the sampler I got was good as well... eight of there different brews in 4 oz glasses. I'm not a huge IPA guy, so some of the offerings in the sampler were a little on the strong hoppy side for my liking, but they were really good none-the-less. The menu selection was really good, as was the food we got.

I hadn't been to Rocky River Brewing in at least five years, so I decided to revisit this joint. It has a chain restaurant feel to it, except a tad nicer. They have a deck to enjoy the weather, but I heard children out there as I approached, so my date and I sat at the bar. They have a pretty long bar and plenty of tables to accommodate a good sized crowd. I arrived about noon on Saturday. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They had seven in house beers on tap. I choose a sampler of six of them. I passed on the Pirate Light. I had an IPA, an altbier, a blueberry ale, a vanilla porter, a kolsch, and a peanut butter amber, which was interesting.

There menu had several interesting appetizers and some good pub fare. We started out with Asian nachos which were tasty and different. My date ordered a chicken sandwich, which she enjoyed and I got buffalo chicken egg rolls since I ate most of the nachos. The buffalo egg rolls were amazing. Spicy, buffalo chicken and blue cheese. It don't get no better! The food was really slow coming out. The bartender said that ticket times were 45 minutes and the place was not even full.

Overall, I would say the food outweighs the beer. They did have three or four guest taps that I failed to pay attention to. I highly recommend this place for a meal. Don't expect to be blown away by the beer though. It is definitely worth a stop. It was family friendly because there were a lot of people there with their children.

Stopped by the RR Brewpub for lunch and a couple drinks on a Sunday afternoon in June 2010 when Great Lakes was closed downtown. My wife and I sat out on the patio and enjoyed some nice shade on a warm day. The bar outside was pretty cool and the place was pretty busy, actually, considering the late lunch.

We started with some Asian nachos that were quite tasty (and different). I had the California Chicken sandwich and it was good. Drawing a blank on what my wife had but she was happy with it I remember.

As far as the beer - I loved the peanut butter brew, it stands out in my mind. I wish I could get more! I'm not even finding this on the BA listings, so I suppose it was a very limited batch. My wife tried the blueberry ale and enjoyed that as well. I believe we had a couple other regular offerings that were solid, too. Nothing that stood out too much, but definitely worth trying.

I can see potential in this pub. The food was good and so was the brew. It's in a pretty busy suburban location, so that wasn't anything special, but it was a good experience nonetheless.

Stopped by with some family over the holidays.

it was pretty busy when we arrived, the parking lot was packed and it was fairly loud inside. We got seated towards the back and slightly out of the way thankfully.

Atmosphere isn't bad, nice dark wood and subdued lighting. There's the quintessential glass room with a fermenter inside visible near the door, and I want to say other brewing vessels visible behind the bar.

Service was average, nothing to report about really.

Selection was disappointing for me, only 5-6 offerings listed on the menu, but a couple were no longer available when I asked for them and there weren't any replacements yet.

My uncle and cousin (who do enjoy beer) were nonplussed and ordered scotch instead. My wife got the Winter Warmer which was ho-hum and my porter wasn't too great.

Food was ok, decent menu selection but the food was overpriced imo, beer seemed priced ok.

It was a welcome stop compared to other places in short driving distance from where we were staying, but I don't foresee trying to come back either.

My brother and I wound up grabbing a sixer of Dortmunder at a gas station on our way back to the hotel room after not wanting to continue drinking beer at the brewpub.

I have stopped by Rocky River Brewing several times, although I really dont know why.

The atmosphere is nice enough, huge dark wood bar, and some of the nicest brewpub restrooms around.

Service varies from awful to slightly above average.

Food is ok, some decent choices but nothing you'll be telling your friends about.

Beers are pretty bad, really. On my last visit I had an Agier (sp?)IPA, a Christmas Ale, and a Reindeer Red.They all looked the same. They all tasted very similar, including the IPA.The maltiest IPA I have ever had. I actually asked the bartender if she was sure I got the correct beer. Maybe they ran out of hops.

I should have caught on when everyone else at the bar was drinking the guest taps.

I have finally convinced myself not to bother returning.

Rocky River is located on Center Ridge Road not too far off I-90. There is a private lot on the side and rear of the building.

The inside is a mustard yellow and brick motif. The bar is immediately past the host stand/merch cabinet and is partial wrap-around. Dining areas are on either side of the bar, which offers a view of brewing equipment behind glass, as well as a chalkboard listing what beers are on tap. They also have beer menus at the bar.

As for the beers, Rocky River carries 8 house brews plus 4 guest taps. The RR beers range include a Light, Kolsch, Blueberry, Amber, Oktoberfest, Brown, Stout and Pale. Guest brewers include Left Hand, North Coast and Dogfish Head. The beers are available in a sampler too. All in all they were average to above average, with nothing really standing out.

Service on a weekday afternoon was good. The bartender was friendly and somewhat knowledgeable about the beer.

I did not try any food on this visit.

Overall this place is a worthwhile stop for anyone visiting the area or passing by on the freeway.

Stopped on Friday night right after visiting Buckeye Brewing. Plenty busy with parking at a premium in back. Had an hour wait inside so opted for outside even though the temp was hovering 95 that day.

Atmosphere: Large bar upon entering with dining room to left and right of bar. Sat outside around tiki bar and not too bad considering temp was like Africa hot. Only downside, restrooms are clear on the other side of the building.

Quality/Selection: I have been here before and always thought their beer was decent. Had the IPA and it was tasty for the low ABV. Also had a stout and enjoyed this as well. Most of their beers are around 5%, which is nice change of pace for a brewpub. They also carried several guest beers, which were more on the higher alcohol range.

Food: had the soft pretzels and asian nachos. Both were very good and would highly recommend the asian nachos.

Service: was just Ok, our server kept bringning us food we did not order. No big deal, just kinda funny after the 3rd time we said we only order the nachos and pretzels.
