The colour is mahogany-brown, the liquid is clear. The two finger head is white and compact. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing on the glass.
The smell is smooth and clean with malty notes and a tart hint. It is rather light with some caramel.
The taste got some caramel, it is overall clean and balanced. Some smooth bitterness, hints of sour rye bread in the background and a touch of nuts. Medium body, impressive for the strength. The aftertaste got notes of golden treacle and toffee cookies, and a light clean bitterness. The short finish got some caramel flavours.
The carbonation is strong and sharp. Large bubbles. The liquid is surprisingly smooth for the strength.
A very pleasant and extremely drinkable beer. Shame about the over-strong carbonation though.
