A tweaked version of the People’s Choice Award winner of the national Swedish home brewing championships in 2010.

The colour is amber, the liquid somewhat hazy. The two finger beige head leaves some lacing on the glass.

The smell is bitter with distinct notes of mint. English yeast, apricots and hints of nuts. It is surprisingly light.

The taste starts off aggressively bitter. Hay and grass, and some dried flowers. Butterscotch. The bitterness calms down after a while. At times, it is more lika an American barley wine than a DIPA with a fins sweet malt background. Full body. The aftertaste is less malty and an amazing quickly growing bitterness. Notes of resin, olive oil and cereals. Then, suddenly, the bitterness goes away again, leaving room for hoppy-floral notes and a very elegant caramel-malt sweetness. Salty hints in the finish.

The carbonation is mild, the few bubbles are mild. The liquid is a bit thick and heavy.

A very different beer with the almost exploding bitterness in the aftertaste.
