Fantastic beer. One of my absolute favorites in the Oppigårds line and overall as well.

Amazingly hoppy and great taste even when nearly frozen.

No head at all to talk about, but the frostiness/cloudiness look of it, is extremely appeling.

When it comes to taste, apart from all the hop, there is a light citrus tone that goes through some delightful bitterness and alcohol, ending up with a great sour and fruity taste in your mouth.

Oppigårds beers - basically american style pale ales - are often pretty dry, compared to their american counterparts. personally, i like that. oppigårds ales are clean, refreshing and yet rich in taste and flavor.

their DIPA is no exception to this. smell is lovely with tropical fruits; citrusy, grassy, flowery, and some resin but not too much. taste is, for being a DIPA, pretty light, almost a pilsner-like dry malty body, resin and some alcohol sweetness. bitterness is quite moderate, but enough to balance the malt.

overall a nice DIPA: relatively dry, yet still fruity, hoppy, full-bodied and refreshing. much better than most american versions ive tried. however, it is a, i guess, fairly moderate DIPA.

This is one of the best smells you'll ever find in IPAs, America and Europe combined. It's so persistent because of the thick lasting foam it's amazing. Omnipollo beers can have similar smells, but they don't last as long. It's very tropical, with a piny backbone. You sense from that strong pine that it's a double IPA. The taste hits you with the bitterness at first, then the malts and herbiness, then the fruits. It's not as linear as most Imperial IPAs, for example I find it better than Amager Bryghus Batch 1000 in that aspect. You can clearly tell there's citra hops in there ,backed by West Coast IPA hops such as columbus and cascade. Adding chinook and nugget makes it quite complex, the herbal taste is very powerful for example, and may be the a drawback. So is the lack of fruits in the taste and final. The IBU is 74, it's not for everyone. But damn, it's good. I could drink this for a whole night, no problem.

Original review : L -4.25 S - 5 T - 4.5 F - 4.25 O - 4.5
L - clear amber colour with almost no head
S - what a smell! Lots of tropical fruits: mango, pineapple, litchee, pine needles
T - a strong bitterness comes first, then litchee and pine, bits of booze comes next
F - quite smooth
O - incredible dipa, a real hopslam! Fantastic brew from Sweden!

On a second tasting almost two years later, I found the smell less incredible than previously but the taste still gives me a good impression with caramel, pine and citrus. Very nice DIPA
