Ate and had a few of the beers on a beautiful summer day while vacationing in California. The food was good and reasonably priced. Lunch specials were very reasonable. Sandwiches were around the $10 level. Lunch specials were a few bucks cheaper. Broccoli cheddar soup was thick and cheesy, salads were crisp and fresh. We sat outside and people watched, lots of great scenery. Tried the Kolsch and the Hefe both very good beers. We just happened upon this place and were glad we found it. Servers were pretty good.

BJ's Brewhouse is located on the corner Beach and Edinger adjacent to the infamous 405. Parking was a little crowded, but reasonable, it is a big parking lot. Went here on a Friday afternoon with my father and sister at about 5:30 P.M., with no wait to be seated. Atmosphere is very nice, we were seated in the back across from a view of the artifical lake behind Party City. Beerwise, I had the Tatonka Stout, a very good representation of the style, and later a pint of the Red Ale, which I thought was only slightly above average. My dad had the Hefe, which I got a taste of, very nice. Foodwise, I had the pot roast which was very good. Service was fine, no problems. A enjoyable dinner for myself and my companions was the result, this is a good brewpub in Northeast Huntington.

Well, first i have to say i'm fond of the BJ's i've been to and finally had a chance to stop by this one with BA IPAviator.

I really like the atmosphere of this one more than the others. There's an indoor patio that you have to walk thru to get to the front doors. A stream and fountain are to the left with big screens to the right. A nice place to wait and sip a beer if there's ever a line. The inside is dark wood with the bar to the left as you walk in. In the bar are big screens, booths, and tables. A good friendly warm vibe fills the air. Couples eating lunch, families and a dab of everything. Nice feel. Being that this is HB, you also get a nice view of the pretty beach gals that are frequent in So Cal... a nice addition in my opinion.

They had their usual beers on tap and the usual bottles which are a nice selection in themselves. The specials on tap were Fuller's Doc's ESB, BJ's Oatmeal Stout, Firestone Walker IPA and SN Celebration. I wanted the Fuller's but there was a leak in the line and it was too foamy... so i settled for the BJ's blond. IPAviator had the oatmeal stout and gave me a taste. Quite scrumptious.

I'm going to have to comeback for some of the Oatmeal Stout.

Very typical of a chain brewpub. Very noisey with conversation and sports on the rather large screen Television. The crowd was pretty eclectic, old and young alike can be seen eating at this joint. The pizza is killer over at BJs in HB. The waiter even served my slices, I never had to serve myself. Being the Imperial Stout fan that I am, I was delighted to see they had one on the menu. It was called "Tatonka Stout." This flavorful beer complimented my veggie pizza. It had the wonderful aromas of choclate and toffee. Next time I go I will be sampling the Hefeweizen for sure.

Large location located at the corner of Beach and I-405. Big bar area, with an enclosed "patio" area up front. Dining seating extends back from the bar. They had seven of their own creations on tap, plus a cider. They also had a nice selection of bottled Belgians. Service was good despite the fact that it was a Friday night and they were packed. Atmosphere is what you would expect from a chain brewpub - it's nice, but feels a bit impersonal. Worth a visit, and the beer is probably better quality than the <TOWN NAME HERE> Beach Brewing Companies up and down the coast.
