12 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter.
Plenty good enough to drink (see below) but a bit contaminated: the beer came foaming up out of the bottle when released and carried an unmistakable off note in the aroma. The flavor, nonetheless, is rather good. It's mildly spicy, has a touch of coffee, some roasted nuts, and comes with moderately strong roasted grains. Worth trying and revisiting.

Pours an effervescent scarlet with 3+ fingers of tan colored head. Noce head retention & lacing

S: Dark fruit, plums, figs

T: Follows the nose, a little cola flavor, & raisin up front. A little woody hops & cinnamon sneaks as this warms, along with figgyness, some dryness & brown sugar too. Finishes dry with brown sugar & woody hops

Light/medium body with slight carbonation. Body seems thin

ABV is well hidden, pretty on point style-wise, thiness of the body doesn't really do it any favors

Dark brown color with orange highlights, light tan cap that quickly vanishes without a trace of lacing.

Aroma of dark roasted malt, heavy caramel and toffee, coffeeish, chocolaty, something like dried mission figs and touches of spice. Don't know if it's actual spice (brewer doesn't day in their description) or even hops, but it is pleasant.

Taste is the same with a little more emphasis on roasted malt and dark fruit, perhaps some plum as well, Flavors are consistent from start to finish with roast malt bitterness standing a little taller in the aftertaste. A complex group of flavors that work fairly well together standing neatly in line without jostling each other for space.

Texture is full.

It is big, I'll give it that. I wouldn't hand this to a casual guest who wanted a beer nor would I offer it up to a beer aficionado as something really special. Yet in the general category of Winter Warmers it certainly meets the style.

Pours clear, reddish-brown in color with 1/3 inch head. Taste is big toasted malt, cherry, plum, and fig. Medium bodied, sweet, and moderate carbonation...Love how this winter warmer is not the typical cinnamon and clove bomb..Super tasty..One of the better beers from a brewery I really like. Will get this again.

Poured a clear, amber color with golden highlights and a small tan head. It smelled of caramel, toffee and floral notes. Really sweet tasting with very little bitterness for balance.
