Pours a clear, copper color. One inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of citrus hops, sweet malt, slight pine, hint of alcohol, and a hint of caramel malt. Fits the style of an American Double / Imperial IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of citrus hops, hint of alcohol, hint of caramel malt, slight pine, hint of yeast, sweet malt, and a hint of pale malt. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma, body, and blend.

Pours a heavy flocculated brown. Outstanding head volume, very good retention and world class lacing.

Outstanding nose of spicy rye, citrus hops (orange, tangerine) and a rich caramel and biscuit background.

Light medium body with a smooth texture that has creamy moments. Normal carbonation level with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a fair amount in the finish.

The flavor profile has the potential to be outstanding, but fails to cover the alcohol. What results is a nice citric hop flavor accompanied by the rye over a rich caramel in the beginning. The middle brings a mild bitterness that has both rye and hop characteristics that have pine aspects as well. Then comes the alcohol and it overwhelms everything from then on. The brewer snatched defeat from the jaws of victory on this one.

Nice imperial. Not the best I've had (Green Flash maybe), and far from the worst (no names). It is certainly a beast of a beer. It might not be atop the imperial food chain, but it is a legit contender.

Smells buttery with a bit of spice and mango. Flavor is dry with diacetyl and citrus rind hops. Okay but needs some work.
