The remaining wilderness surrounding the Indian Ocean's Bay of Bengal is the last great stronghold for earth's most formidable terrestrial predator: The Bengal Tiger. Aggressively hopped, yet surprisingly delicate, this Double India Pale Ale offers a juxtaposition of two opposing forces. Crack open a can. Cry out with a roar. Revel in the partnership of the ferocious and the serene.

not fond of this DIPA --was sort of sticky caramel with a 'dirty' finish .... not an old batch so don't need to go there..
i do not know enough about the Moerlein pedigree of IPA's but if this is an indicator then chances are I wont be too impressed …. was surprised at all the kudos below but looks like many were written 2-4 yrs ago … perhaps what it used to be is not what it is now … its okay yet I will not be investing in another six of it ...

strong and smooth at the same time. The bitterness mixes well with the maltiness

A: Pours a clear medium copper in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate medium golden yellow + amber colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy beige head that reduces to a large patch of very slightly mottled medium thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/grapefruit zest, and pine/resin hops over the top of moderate aromas of toasted + biscuit + caramel malts with a slightly heavier than light amount of caramel sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of toasted + biscuit + caramel malts with a slightly heavier than light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/grapefruit zest, and pine/resin hops which impart a moderate amount of aggressive bitterness that lingers through the finish.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Enjoyable and fairly easy to drink with well hidden alcohol but this beer is closer to an Imperial Amber/Red (like Tröegs Nugget Nectar) than a traditional DIPA.

Appearance - Pours nice copper color with thick soapy white head. Lost of lacing around the glass.
Aroma - Biscuit, caramel, malt, not getting a ton of hops maybe a faint hint. Little bit of orange peel and grapefruit.
Taste - Nice mixture of malts, caramel, hops, bitter grapefruit and orange peel. Just taste like just when it is about to go too malty the bitter fruit pulls it back.
Feel - Medium bodied, well carbonated dry bitter finish.
Overall- The nose leans more toward the malty side the taste is pretty well balanced malt and bitter fruit.
