At the Lager Haus
Clear, deep golden color with a thin head.
Only a faint malt aroma but noticable floral hops.
Taste has a good balance of toasted malts and hops. Slightly bitter finish.
Light to medium body with moderate carbonation.
Very drinkable! I like it!

Got a 6pck of this from my local Meijer. It poured a clear golden with no head and no lace. The scent had hints of white grape/wine. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.

Das Über Lager | Christian Moerlein Brewing Company. Poured from the can into a pint glass, the head's three fingers thick, with solid lacing, and a deep amber body.
Smells like bold grains and hearty malts.
This has a mild sweetness to the not-as-prevalent-as-one-would-expect malts. A tad too weak in that regard.
Medium-light mouthfeel with mild carbonation.
Das Über Lager | Christian Moerlein Brewing Company gets a 4.25 out of me.

Das Über Lager brewed by Christian Moerlein Brewing Company, with an ABV of 5.40% This Oktoberfest pours out a nice golden amber color with a small white head. Real thin spotty lacing to this brew. The smell is sweet and rich with roasted grains and malts. You also pick up on some nice mild hops in the smell as well. Between the look and taste this is one inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is smooth with flavors. You pick up on a nice mild sweetness, with grains and malts. The hops are really faint in this Oktoberfest, not saying that is a bad thing. The body of Das Über Lager is a solid medium. This is one of the more lighter Oktoberfest brews on the market, however it is really enjoyable. There is nothing overpowering about this Oktoberfest, it has a real nice balance to it. This brew goes nice with the season, not to light, not to heavy. Real nice smooth sweet easy going brew. The mouth feel of Das Über Lager is Bold, Clean, Smooth, Sweet, and Refreshing. Overall I'm giving this Oktoberfest a 4.25 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again giving the opportunity to. Christian Moerlein Brewing Company, did a real nice job with this brew.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This decent fest pours a light peach tinged
golden color with a nice head of white foam that settles to a thick ring, light pool,
and shows light lacing. Nose of subtle breaded malts and a hint of hops with
with subtle sweet malts...light nose for certain. Flavors exceed by presentation
light breaded malts touched with subtle herbal hops and mild sweet caramel malts.
Nice mouth feel; medium body, light carbonation, and a sweet malt touched finish.
Overall a decent fest but not a stand out one like I would expect from a great local
brewer.
Cheers

An Oktoberfest in a can? Well, okay. Poured from a (can't believe I'm saying this) can into a 0.5L stein. I gave this a rough pour and still only got 2 fingers of head. Moreover, it didn't retain very well. Plus, the color is golden, not amber, so I expect this was made with very lightly toasted malt. Very subdued nose. I don't get a lot of sweet, bready notes like I would hope for. There's a faint breadiness and a hint of lemon.
Light bodied with a flat feel. Fairly sweet and mealy with a slight kiss of citrusy hops. I'm not digging the flavor too much. There's something not quite right about it. The malt flavor isn't "clean" and there's a trace of something underneath it like cooked vegetables (it doesn't taste infected, but perhaps DMS? Maybe it's just me). The finish is short-lived and brings fresh bread and lemon curd to the palate. Very drinkable, but the malt flavor isn't toasty enough and lacks complexity.
Ordinarily, I would NEVER buy an Oktoberfest that comes in a freaking can, but Moerlein is local and they have a good history brewing traditional German styles, so I was intrigued. I appreciate the effort, but sadly, this beer was something of a letdown for me. Great Lakes Oktoberfest is still, far and away, the best domestic Oktoberfest I know of. I was really hoping this one would be more like that one.
