11236 at the end of a code stamped on the bottle, presumably the Julian bottling date
A: Very attractive clear, dark red with good retention.
S: Brown sugar and yeast spiciness. Quite appealing.
T: Much like the nose, but with an almost crisp finish from hop bitterness. Tastes spicy but not really spiced.
M: Medium with a dry finish.
O: Not a bad beer, and worth drinking again, but not really remarkable.

12oz can, no date, but I'm going to assume it's from this year. Served in a nonic glass.
Appearance: Clear dark copper, thin off-white head, some thin islands that slid back down the glass.
Smell: Not a lot of aroma. A bit of toasted malt, maybe some spices, and a hint of something metallic.
Taste: Malty, lots of toasted malts. Some unusual fruit flavors - I want to say some red grape and currants. Lightly bitter finish, a bit leafy and herbal with just a tiny bit of something spicy....cinnamon? I can't quite place it.
Mouthfeel: Nicely thick, light carbonation, definitely sticky on the teeth.
Overall / Drinkability: A very unusual flavor profile winter warmer. Not fully sure how I feel about it. One was enough per evening. Maybe I need to let this one warm up a lot more to get the flavors out.

A fine brew from Moerlein in a growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate. This fine ale pours
a deep dark brown with a nice head of off white foam that subsides to a thick ring,
thin subtle pool, and subtle lacing. Nose of chocolate malts, breaded malts like
a doppelbock, and subtle booze. Flavors exceed the nose with mild chocolate and
dark brown sugar glazed bread with a nice warming alcohol effect with a touch of
herbal hop bitterness to cut through the sweetness. Excellent mouth feel; smooth,
rich, lightly coating, medium on the feel, and warming with a sweet finish. Overall
one of the better of the style which is usually laden with too much spice. This one
is near perfect and likened unto a doppelbock in character.
Nice!
Cheers
