Poured from a bottle into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass. The beer is seriously undercarbonated and a very rough pour produces only a thin lacing of head (inexcusable for this style). Other than that, the beer looks fine with a nice cloudy gold orange color. The nose is quite faint, but what's there is pretty spot-on. Some tart wheat-like aromas, some banana-like esters, and a dash of peppery phenols.
The beer is light-bodied and has a flavor in line with the style. It is slightly bready and sweet up front with fruity banana and lemon at mid-palate, spicy clove, and some tartness on the finish. Very refreshing. I also note that, unlike some American-brewed versions of this style, the flavor doesn't die in the back of your mouth. It's not great, but it's definitely solid. Despite the low carbonation, the feel is pretty slick and firm and doesn't detract from the drinking experience.
Overall, a nice enjoyable beer for a hot, muggy Summer day. It's a little light in the nose and it is seriously undercarbonated, but those are my only gripes with it. It's probably best enjoyed on-tap at the Christian Moerlein Lagerhouse.

Poured into a 22oz. wheat glass at the brewery.
Orange in color with about a centimeter in white fizzy head.
Decent amount of clove and banana esters in the nose. Some bready notes as well.
Medium mouthfeel with distinct wheat fluffy character. Pleasing on the palate. Easy to drink without seeming over cloying. Banana and clove characters work well throughout the beer and don't seem one dimensional. Some spice and yeasty flavors with the malt really driving this.

On-tap at Moerlein Lager House, Cincinnati, OH
A: The beer is very hazy light yellow in color. It poured with a thin bright white head that died down, leaving a collar around the edge of the glass and some lacing on the surface.
S: There are moderate to strong aromas of bananas in the nose—it’s not complex but rather strong.
T: Like the smell, the taste has lots of flavors of bananas along with some notes of wheat.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink; I could see it being a good hefeweizen for someone who is getting into craft beer and looking for something refreshing in the summer before a Reds game since no yeast or bubble gum flavors are apparent.

White head. Hazed straw golden yellow.
The main flavor is bananas. Reminds me of banana rungs. Cloves/spice as well. Malt profile is faint while the hop profile doesn't show at all. It has a slight herbal hop flavor. Bready malts. Decent amount of wheat. Yeasty.
Mouthfeel: creamy and smooth. Lighter bodied. Ends dry.
Overall, I'd say that this is a little above average hefe. It was solid, but not mind blowing.

Pours a hazy lemony straw with a frothy two inch white head that lingers.
Wheat, lemon, banana, clove, and yeast dominate the initial aroma. Orange pith and coriander surface as it warms.
Flavor reveals more citrus notes of muted lemon and orange underlying a wheat and bready malt backbone. Coriander rounds out the slightly dry finish. Banana and clove emerge late.
Body is slightly watery, with moderate carbonation and a hint if alcohol warmth.
Typical hefe characteristics, but lacking somewhat in body and missing a spectacular yeast profile.

I bought a bottle of this off the single shelf at the local Meijer. It poured a hazy yellow with fizzy white head that eventually dissapated and left no lace. The scent was faint. The taste was ok...some hint of banana and clove. The Mouthfeel was lighter in body with huge carbonation. Overall it not an overly great beer....might be better on tap.

On tap in a 16oz pint glass at the Moerlein Lager House in Cincinnati. According to the waiter, the Lager House is the only place to get it!
A: A nice cloudy, bright yellow with a snow white one-finger head.
S: Pleasant, light smell, but with the distinct cloves and banana, if a little muted.
T: Light, a little girly. Still a hefe, but without the clear fruit notes and zing of others I've had.
M: Again, light, easy, and fluffy. A little (too) carbonated, but pleasant.
O: Not the best from Moerlein, especially when they make such good malty beers like bocks and marzens. Still worth it after a hometown win by the Reds!

Poured the Seven Hefe into a Belgian Glass.
A - Pours a cloudy murky yellow with a finger of white head that dissipates quickly.
S - Getting light clove and banana notes, some light wheat as well. Ho Hum.
T - At first taste some watered down clove and banana notes here as well. Not a lot different from the nose. Some sourness in there. Here we go. The ship is sinking.
M - Not as smooth as a good Hefe, medium carbonation and light mouthfeel.
O - Aaah, ok the Seven isn't bad it may even be pretty good on draft, but there are many selections out there that are better choices. Cheers.
