Not what you expect from the name and style of establishment. That said it is an excellent beer and wine bar. Athere are only nine taps, but they are all unique. Very rare selection in the mix. (Lagunitas, duchesse de bourgogne, fullers and more including some michigan breweries). Seem to have a good belgian bottle selection, although that is not my style. Service was great, but I was at the bar. Lunch was packed. Good buzz. Looks like they run beer events also. Had six packs to go, definately quality not quantity. Very pleasant find.

Without a doubt, this is one of, if not our favorite place to go to eat and get a drink. My wife and I live about twenty minutes from The French Laundry and try to make it a point to go here at least a couple of time each month. They have a “Supper Club” which allows you to call ahead and gets you $10 gift cards for every $100 that you spend.

They also do ticketed dinners for special menus or drinks that they have at the time. One of the coolest I have seen is the “Wine Versus Beer” dinner which pairs a wine and a beer for each of the courses. Based on the diner’s comments either wine or the beer will be crowned the winner.

On top of great food and atmosphere, they have a great beer selection that is always changing. If you are ever in the Fenton, MI are, be sure to stop by this place, you won’t be disappointed.

Had heard good things about this place over the past year and today was my first chance to check it out.

Was fairly surprised to find it so crowded on a Sunday evening. Thankfully we were able to find a couple of seats at the bar. We were greeted immediately by the bartender, Phillip, with food and drink menus. He seemed quite knowledgeable about the beer they served and the breweries that created them.

We missed the Short's tap takeover by a week, but they still had Another Caucasian Gary on tap. It's a unique, sweet milk stout that takes some time to get used to. A different review for another day. We were also able to sample some cider from St. John's Brewing. I came away very impressed and will definitely look into them.

We both ordered off the sandwich menu. I had a turkey and pesto on sour dough while my traveling companion got a chicken salad and raspberry preserve on a wheat wrap. Both were pretty large but very good, served with a pickle on the side. We each took half home.

The nine seat bar was small but definitely adequate for the setting. The rest of the dining area was spacious but quaint. The windows and open layout allowed in a lot of natural light which was incredibly pleasant on a beautiful day like today.

The French Laundry is a highly recommended visit and will become a regular stop for me going forward.

This is my second time visiting here. I visited last year around this time and was impressed when the guy behind the bar told me they would only have Michigan drafts. I love places that support their local breweries

The atmosphere is pretty upscale. Most of the people their were dressed at least in business casual. Which I guess is cool for a restaurant but not what I consider a good beer drinking atmosphere. The bar had maybe 6 seats total, but there were a fair amount of tables around.

The quality and the selection of the beers they had was pretty high. They had a couple Founder's taps, one from Arbor, one from Dragonmead, one from Shorts and one from Dark Horse. Only thing missing that I was bummed about was the lack of Bells. They had Backwoods Bastard on but nothing too extraordinary other than that.

The service was friendly but the bartender really wasn't all that knowledgeable about beer. She sounded like she had memorized a few lines about each beer but didn't have much more knowledge than that. This is really nice for a restaurant but a bit lacking for what a beer geek would like.

The value is the part that really is awful about the place. For a small (I'd guess 9-10 oz?) pour of Backwoods Bastard it was $9. I know that the specialty kegs for Founder's are expensive but come on that's a bit crazy. I'm guessing they price their beers higher to make it seem like a nicer place.

All in all this place is decent but not really a beer destination. If you are in Fenton and you want to grab a decent pint this place will provide you that but it will cost you.

This place is great. I have been here several times and the tap list never disappoints. They have nine taps which are almost always great seasonals from top breweries. I was here last night and they had Founders Nemesis, Shorts Black Cherry Porter, New Holland Imperial Hatter, etc. This past summer they did a beer dinner which the highlight was Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout, now you get the picture. Their bottle list is also nothing to shake a stick at.

The food here is also very good. We had a cheese plate for an appetizer, which was amazing. They have awesome sandwiches on the lunch menu but you can order them anytime. Ive never been here for breakfast.

The service was great even with a full house. Atmosphere is nice with a upscale-casual feel.

They also have a cafe side where they sell pastries, baked goods, coffee, etc. to go and they also have a decent selection of beer.

I highly recommend stopping in if you are ever in the area.

When I first walked into this place I was not sure if I was gonna stick around. Looked like a little over priced sandwich shop. Then they handed me the beer menu and my attitude did a complete 180. I was impressed from the time I got the menu until I walked out the door. The beer selection was great. The menu described each beer individual giving you a little idea about its taste. Great idea because there were some beers I have not tried and gave me a rough idea what to expect. They had some unique taps to choose from but most the selection was from a bottle. The food was exceptional as well and deserves its own paragraph but I'll refrain. Lets just say with the portion you will not walk away hungry. I will be returning to this place time and time again bringing friends and family to enjoy this resturant.

First off, the food is quite good. Nothing is cheap here, not incredibly over-priced but the quality is coming at a premium which is fine by me.

The beer selection is very impressive. There are around 9 taps of which all are beers you just don't see elsewhere on tap. The bar staff is incredibly knowledgable and do a great job of describing the beer, serving in the appropriate glassware, etc. Refreshingly, they don't serve a single macro-brew but the staff is good at politely directing people toward the right selection.

Bottle selection is online at: http://www.lunchandbeyond.com/QuikPrintBeverages.pdf

They have much more than this list though as I've had Stone Vertical Epic and such in bottles there.

Update: I had emailed the staff recommending that they add their draft beer selection to their website and they did so in a matter of a week or two.

I have been here on a few occasions; it is kind of a Zingerman's but with just a tad less charm. Although, on a nice summer day, this is a great place to visit with the porch seating and the unique architecture- it is a very unique experience. The food is amazing and unique, the sandwiches are to die for and anything else I have had has been stunning as well. The beer menu was pretty surprising to me. They had St Bernardus Abt 12 on tap along with Gulden Draak along with some others. They also have a good selection of bottled beers as well including many Bell's, Dark Horse, Unibroue, Rochefort, Chimay, and many beers that I have never heard of. The service is very professional and respectful. Highly recommended for a unique place to eat.

They only have 8 taps but the 8 taps consists of
seasonal Unibroue
seasonal Arcadia
Golden Draak
St Bernardus 12
Lion Stout
and my memory is escaping me on the other 3 but they are craft beers and not macros. They also have about 20 or 25 craft beers in bottles. They also have a handpull and get a new cask in once per week, either Thursday or Friday (I can't remember which day).

The atmosphere is cool with an eclectic variety of old kitchen tables and chairs along with a bar. Parking is a bit of a pain but there is ample parking about 2 blocks away to the East. Servce was good, food is outstanding. We've eaten here about half a dozen times.
