Had this on tap at the brewery yesterday. IIRC, this Nimbus seasonal uses seven malts and a "Dusseldorf yeast". 6.5% ABV. Good to see more of this style being brewed.

Pours a dark coppery color, decent head, with good persistence. Toasty and biscuit malt on the nose. Hints of that yeast, but (unless I just missed it) not much hop here.

Hint of toffee compliments the malty flavor with a touch of herbal noble hops. A good showing in the Alt style for Nimbus.

Mouthfeel is good, ample carbonation, not too dry. Drinkability is above average, but after a couple I think I might want a change of pace. Didn't get to try that theory, however.

Sits in my pint glass with a clear, amber-red color. It is topped by a light tan colored layer of thin froth. The aroma is made up of fruit (with berry being most noticeable, toasty malt notes, biscuit aromatics and some light caramel. The berry aromatics seem to be a mix of hop, yeast and malt contributions.

The beer feels creamy up front, but then a light carbonations adds some texture towards the middle. This tastes of herbal hops, fruit (again berry notes, but also some melon flavors), and some substantial malt notes are here as well; notes of light caramel, biscuit, and perhaps some toffee flavors are all noticeable. This finishes with a nice bitterness that provides an astringent bite that makes one want to take another sip of this brew.

This is a nice mix berry, herbal and malt flavors. This is actually quite a decent, even actually good, example of an Alt. It does not have that hoppy vibrant character of my favorite versions, but I really like the chewy, creamy mouthfeel; the beer just slides down my throat with a smooth, interesting texture.
