Pours pitch black with a rapidly disappearing thin tan head that left no lacing. Smells.of malt, dark chocolate, oak and a very slight smokiness. Tastes of dark chocolate, roasted malts, espresso, oak, whiskey, vanilla, light smokiness and a hint of soy. Full bodied, minimal carbonation, chewy mouth feel, dry finish.

De Zombier. En copa Teku. Jugando a Hollow Knight. Cuerpo ligero a pesar del abv. Muy tostada, algo quemada/ahumada incluso. No se, pero las stouts de molen no me terminan de entusiasmar. Sin espuma

An 11.2 oz. bottle that is dated 10 Aug 2014. The label says to enjoy within 5 years, so it’s still within Brewery recommendation.

Pouring into a snulip glass, this beer pours like motor oil. Thick and pitch black. It forms a full pinky width of dense, creamy, caramel colored bubbles that are very tightly packed. Leaves spitty lacing throughout the entire glass. Beautiful looking beer, especially for forming a crown like that after close to 5 years.

I smell strong notes of whiskey and roasty notes as soon as I open the bottle. Putting my nose in the glass, this is a roasty chocolate delight with some boozy, thick and fudgy elements. Booze has a nice presence.

The taste brings in those roasted barley malts with more clarity. Roasty chocolate layers, very slight smoke to it. Some whiskey like alcohol presence to the taste.

The mouthfeel is full bodied. It has a fudge like presence that is cut with some of that alcohol being present. Boozy, but not burning. Smoke is present and causes a dry feeling. It seems a little flat to me with no real pop on the carbonation. It could be from the age.

Overall, this wasn’t bad, but maybe it worked better fresh. It’s slightly smoky, with roasty chocolate layers showing through. I would drink it again.

Black with a mocha head. Thin lacing.

Huge powdered chocolate with hints of vanilla and soy.

The same powdery, dark Belgian chocolate, with strong leather and light earthy hops, presents in the taste. Bitter chocolate and umami in the aftertaste.

Medium bodied with decent carbonation.

Not my favorite flavor combination. The darkness works, but the soy isn't my jam.

A very dark black color, medium bodied with no head nor lacing. Aroma was slight smoky chocolate, malty with some whisky hints. Taste was medium bodied, with a distinctive smoky taste, hints of chocolate, malts and whisky. A complex character, smooth well crafted. Very nicely done. It does have a nice gentle kick to it as one drinks it.

On-tap served in a pint glass at Wishbeer, Bangkok.

It comes with a jet black body and massive silky yet creamy tan head as a gorgeous showcase. The head stands firm with unbeatable strength of retention before slowly subsiding to an eternal frothy layer atop and leaving lacing wave all around.

In a nose, loads with all kinds of dark malt, chocolate, coffee, licorice, dark bread, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, vanilla, tobacco, charred nut, as well as subtle dark cherry and spicy alcohol, it is so mellow and rich overall.

The taste is very rich and intense being led and dominated all over by roasted, chocolate, and coffee with some sourness as well as herbal licorice. It is also with notes of sweet vanilla, dark bread, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, tobacco, charred nut, as well as mild dark cherry and spicy alcohol. The almost end reveals a trace of intense bitterness together from both roasted malt and hop.

Full body with some chewiness touch and moderate carbonation along with super smooth mouthfeel through the palate, the overall feeling is very well-rounded with a pleasantly dry finish.

Very easy to go with and very tasty even the ABV is on the high side but it is quite concealed well without a big punch to your face, overall, this one is equipped with all the goodness of great Stout.
