Bottle: Poured a clear dark ale with a large light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of coffee is dominating with light black chocolate notes. Taste is also dominated by nice aromatic dry coffee notes with good roasted malt backbone and light black chocolate. Body is a bit too light with good carbonation and no alcohol was apparent. Good but body is too thin for style and lacking some character for such a huge beer.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 11.6%. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Strong dryish aroma of coffee and herbs, hints of burnt wood and ashes. Dry flavour first, strong roasty notes, very strong coffee, ashes, some hops and alcohol sweetness in the finish.

Pulled this out of the cellar for whatever reason in March, had prolly been in there too long already.
Pours black. Doesn't really hold a head. Fine beige bubbles on the edge. The aroma had a very mild chocolate and coffee edge to it, had roastiness and that Russian Imperial Stout like lager dark fruit bitterness going for it after some age I suspect.
Taste continues the same way, its a substantially bitter beer with ample (moreso than the coffee/chocolate malt aspect) dark fruit bitterness notes. I didn't really get any degree of sweetness to this. Was more in the prune, black licorice, heavily roasted bitterness flavors and mouth feel. Like this strikes me as over 100ibu. It really wasn't that thick, it still hid the alcohol ok, but the heavy bitterness and dark fruit still brought a good amount of heat.
I wonder what the coffee amounts were like at the time.

Pours almost black with a thin tan head and very little lacing.
Wonderful taste of toasted malt, coffee mixed with some licorice and black bread and some chocolate mixed in. Nice viscosity and wonderful lingering aftertaste. Well done.

Deep, dark brown body; thin yet creamy light tan head. Cocoa and roasted grain aroma; mocha. Cocoa powder and sweet chocolate flavors; boozy and bitter. Heavy, leaden body; velvety and oily; sludgy with residual sugars; semi-dry; some alcohol warmth.
This is a heavy and richly flavored stout, a bit boozy with some coffee-like undertones.

Pours pitch black. There's almost no head. What's there was tan, and dissipated to a ring around the glass.
The nose is really nice. It has a coffee aroma with some notes of chocolate. The aromas compliment each other.
Taste - A creamy chocolate flavor up front that turns into a nice mellow coffee flavor on the backside. There's also a slight sweet flavor mixed in with the coffee.
The body is thick. The coffee lingers in my palate.
Solid coffee beer. Nice flavors, and it feels great.

Pours in a snifter glass. Black colour, almost no head, no retention and minimum lace. Aroma of dark fruits, chocolalte, coffee, licorice. MEdium body, creamy palate, no carbonation. Long dry finish. Taste of dred fruits, coffee, chocolate, licorice. To me, just a good Imperial Stout, bur far from the best I've had.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with virtually no carbonation bubbles and only a tiny ring around the glass with no lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, coffee, cocoa with a hint of vanilla; a little boozy. Flavor is mildly sweet dark toasted malt, tired coffee, light cocoa and a little licorice. Medium bodied with mild carbonation, but better than I expected from the pour. A satisfactory coffee infused imperial stout, but not that complex or full bodied. Although it tastes OK, possibly the mildest stout of this ABV I've ever had. The flavors that are present are good, but muted. This has a (best by?) date of 2021, indicating this may have been brewed in 2016, so a few years old. That probably affected the coffee flavors, which were not that intense, but should not have dampened the malt and chocolate notes. I'm a De Molen fan and this is one of theirs that I've been looking forward too, but this is a bit too tame for me.
