12oz bottle purchased for $5.99 at Calandro's in Baton Rouge, LA, poured into tulip. Pours a deep brown with awesome, perfect creamy off white head. Great dried fruit and boozey chocolate aromas. Wow...awesome chocolate, dried fruit, malty flavor with a hint of bitter hop. Some booze is present but not as much as I expected. So smooth and so creamy. The beer is like silk. This brew has one of the best "mouthfeel" ive ever had, especially one with such a high abv. This is a great brew...somewhat different than the normal Strong Dark, I think its less "spice" character than I normally attribute to the style, but its just so good. Go have one if you see it!

The brew is foggy dark brown, a tan high head with good lacing.

The smell is sweet and herbal, reminds me of an liqueur, but also figs, toast, and coffee beans.

Tasting sweet, fig marmalade, sherry, dark chocolate and herbs.

Little carbonation, smooth and oily, a big body, a warm feeling.

Very nice with cheese after dinner. To me this is more like a Belgian Strong Dark Ale.

Pitch black pour with a very thin tan head that is slow to rise to the surface. Smells like dark cherries, almonds and roasted malts. Taste like dark chocolate, roasted malts, bitter cherries and a bit of coffee, as well as bitter hops. Smooth mouthfeel, flat and very bitter aftertaste.

A strong dark beer, very aromatic (herbs and chocolate) with a hidden alcohol taste afterwards. Highly recommended esp. for dark beer lovers.

Pours dark brown with bulk of sediment and 1-finger nice golden head, leaving some nice laces. Smell - caramel, dark fruits, figs, dates, yeasts.
Taste - slightly acid, vinous, dark fruits, chocolate.
Smooth and drinkable, medium body and carbonation.

11.2oz. Te usual ridiculous Belgian pour, blackish brown with the overflowing the glass cream colored head. Someone explain to me again why this is good? Anyways, looks how it should. Nice heavy lacing.

Aroma, loads of fig, brown sugar, prune and molasses.

Taste, baked brown sugar, plum up front pretty sweet. More toasted notes, malt and chestnut. Little bit of dark chocolate in there too. A nice earthy finish, peat, herbal hops, a slight oaky char. Pretty nice.

Medium body, but lively carbonation keeps it pretty easy to drink. Still coats pretty well. Really only a faint warming.
This was very nice, and much better than the De Molen attempts at stouts and porters.

Cheers to @LaitueGonflable for the beer. Cracked open with him after a day of terribly hard work.

Pours with an immense and almost comically voluminous head, so much so that I almost can't fit one 330ml bottle into two glasses. Body is thick and black-brown, heavily opaque. Head is light brown, and although it's amazingly frothy to begin with, it collapses leaving clumps of lace and a pillowed centre. Looks very good.

Ooh, nose is delicious with dark roastiness and slight aged dark characters, giving off very slight vinous characters of oak. Slight seltzer acidity to it, as though it's bubbling off all its carbon dioxide. Sweet boozy notes to it as well, giving some lovely port and bourbon characters. Lovely. Not as strong as some other examples, but nicely constructed.

Taste is very nice in the flavour department, but the feel is really quite surprisingly thin, leaving the palate open to a real sting from booze. In terms of flavour, the palate is dominated by a strong vinous, slightly astringent heat that gives off oaky spirits and liqueur filled chocolates. On the back, we get more of a grainy black note, which releases a nutty character and a very pleasantly smooth finish. Despite the heat, the beer has rounded you up and cuddles you back to sensibility.

Surprisingly drinkable for its profile, ABV and strength. A bold but well made Imperial Stout, that ticks many of the boxes for an exemplar of the style.
