Got this from the De Molen beer shop in Bodegraven. This is H&V aged on Dutchsky soaked oak chips.

From a bottle into a snifter
Bottle #240
Drunk side-by-side with the regular 666.

APPEARANCE: A clear, dark brown pour, almost black, yields a one finger, medium looking tan head with decent retention. Black body, transparent, with higher levels of carbonation evident. A splotchy wisp and ring remain leaving no real lacing down the glass. Looks mostly the same as the regular 666.

SMELL: Whisky and oak with light vanilla and chocolate aromas on the nose. Same roasted and boozy qualities show up here as well. Good, but milder than than its predecessor.

TASTE: Roasted flavors up front with whisky, oak, vanilla and some nice dark chocolate at the swallow. Bold and lingering finish with more whisky, bitter chocolate, sweet cream and some caramel flavors as well. Not as boozy as the regular 666, less harsh and a better blend of flavors here. This is excellent.

PALATE: Medium body and medium levels of carbonation. A touch lighter than the other version, less creamy as well, goes down fine and finishes mouth-coating. A bit of heat lingers.

OVERALL: This is really, really good. The nose is slightly milder and the feel a bit lighter than the regular 666 on cognac chips, but it's less boozy and the flavors are wonderful and they blend well into a whole. Excellent stuff that I would gladly drink a pile of. Too bad there isn't much of this around at all. Highly recommended.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar, pre-CBC. Pitch black with no head. Bourbon, whiskey, coffee, chocolate, licorice. Full bodied with a sticky-sweet aftertaste.

Pitch black color with no head. Aroma has big bourbon and peated whiskey. Taste is also slightly peated but mostly has sweet bourbon, caramel and the finish is bitter with dark coffee flavor. Medium body with the right amount of carbonation for the style. Really good version of H&V.

33 cl bottle poured into my tastingglass

Deep, murky brown with absolutely no head.
Pretty oily appearance.
The nose is rich roasted malt and vanilla
Taste is Plenty of chocolate , vanilla , bourbon , Mild boozy sweetness, dessert liqueur, Bitter dark chocolate and raisin , dark fruits , Burnt brown sugar
Thick and quite viscous. Not overly boozy, smooth and surprisingly easy to drink. Overall, a pretty good beer

On-tap at Mikkeller & Friends in Copenhagen, poured into a mini pokal glass.

A- Pours pitch black with a thin khaki head, nice retention and spotty lacing.

S- Roasted grain, a bit of smokiness, chocolate, bread, maybe some coffee. Smells very nice.

T- Similar to the aroma, nice amounts of roast, chocolate, coffee, some dark fruit as well.

M- Full-bodied, smooth and creamy, mild alcohol warmth, this hides its booze very, very well.

O- Another very solid stout from de Molen, I definitely prefer the BA version, but this was quite tasty nonetheless.
