Pours into an impy nonic a hazed apricot color with a great looking one finger clingy bone white head atop.Mild fruity aromas with some biscuit malt,as it warms more "green" leafy hops come into play. The flavors burst out at ya with big citrus notes over top of leafiness, underlying mild biscuit sweetness doesn't stand up to the hops.Wow this is good, the citrus is bursting and the flavors really jump out at ya,love it.

@ Ridgewood

Cloudy pale orange color with a nice fat pillow of dense foam on the surface. Pleasant juicy fruit aromas, though on the light side...tangerines, pulpy citrus, and mango sorbet. Flavors of grapefruit, mango, pithy citrus, a fresh green quality, and passion fruit. Pretty light and easy-drinking with a good level of bitterness. Interesting hop profile.

Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, opaque, orange-yellow coloring, something like Orangina, with a filmy, wispy, white surface coating of head. Aromas of grapefruit and orange blend, with juice like sweetness, highlights of lemon, and a subtle hops bitterness. The flavors are very tart forward, with a blast of grapefruit and lemon on the forward tongue, followed by an acidic backbone, subtle cracker notes, and hints of pine, woods, and resin. This is a bit off-balanced. The body is a slightly dry, medium feel, with a tart and sweet citrus aftertaste. The finish is a bit frothy and a bit dry. This one's a little off-balanced for me.

This is a pretty ho hum IPA. No wonder you see so many of last months still on the shelf, literally everywhere you go. Hey Foothills Nice Marketing Scheme, BUT MAKE BETTER BEER FOR $7! I have said this over and over, yet I end up purchasing one every month. I was following an obsession, but I can get a lot better beer for the same price. Either the beer stores need to lower the price or Foothills needs to, or both. I am not sure how this works, but this beer is definitely not worth what I paid for it, nor have most of them.

Smell: Faint, some light fruits, mostly nonexistent for an IPA. This is a disappointing beer in smell.

Taste: A little better, but its nothing compared to the regular stuff produced by Foothills, which you can purchase a six pack for on sale for around a dollar more, even if not on sale you can get it for $10.

Overall: This is a let down like most of the others have been. I have been inflating my ratings because I wanted them to be better and since they were one offs you really have no idea unless you taste them. These are not bad beers but they are way too expensive for what you are getting considering these guys make Jade and you can buy it for the same price or less in some places.

Appearance: The first unfiltered (I think) IPA in the series presents a cloudy amber color with just a strip of foam; no lacing activity once the foam disappeared

Smell: Papaya and pear with hints of citrus pith and biscuity malt

Taste: The papaya, pear and a touch of biscuit lead off with a hint of citrus pith developing in the middle; increasingly dank and resinous, after the swallow with a touch of residual sugar to balance out the 90 IBUs in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with low to moderate carbonation

Overall: Not sure what happened with the carbonation on this beer as it wound up being somewhat flabby; I liked the flavor profile, however, though it was not among my favorites for the series; interesting rare hop choices: Bravo and Jarrylo
