The official beer of Jack Frost. Skillfully blended barley and roasted wheat malts team up with a big blast of flavor and aroma from Pacific Northwest hops. The result? A Black IPA as refreshingly bracing as a cold winter day.

Picked up a single as part of a mixed sixer from the Ingles Spartanburg Highway cold beer case 4-14-21 for $10.98. Bottled on 12-16-20; consumed 4-20-21.
Beer poured dark brown with a very nice bubbly off white head.
Nose has a decent mixture of mild roasted hops and grapefruit.
Taste is nicely done with a lighter mildly roasted malt base, with a tad of chocolate, combining with grapefruit hops. Finishes with a nice touch of piney bitterness; 6/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and has a very nice element of smoothness which is a nice touch for a seasonal.
Overall a very quaffable beer almost sessionable that i will be sure to grab a sixer during the holiday season next year!

Appearance: Pours a dark brown, near black body with a sensibly tall, frothy, light beige head.
Smell: Restrained roast element and skimp dusting of unsweetened chocolate powder with hoppy accents of pine, citrus and mint.
Taste: Gently roasty, even a tad toasty with a very mild bitterish chocolate hint. Though predominately a woodsy, spruce slash pine flavor, there is also some floral, citrusy aspects as well. Moderate bitterness. Finishes fairly dry, subtly roasty and bitter with a final zip of resinous spruce.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. A little levity, a little thinness to the overall mouthfeel.
Overall: Not bad.

Drinking from a fresh keg poured into a pint glass.
Appears blackish brown, with a tan head, with light lacing.
Smells malty, chocolate, citric.
Taste follows the nose. Bitterness that I like .
Mouth feel is medium.
Good example of the style.
I would definitely order again.

Pours a dark brown to black with moderate khaki head. Smells strongly of roasted malt, with chocolate and hop tones. Malt and chocolate dominate the taste with hop on the backend. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light. Chocolate and hops share the aftertaste
