A fizzy three fingers of toasted bread colored head nearly reaches the top of my tulip glass. Head turns rocky as it fades leaving chunks of lace on the glass. Body is an attractive ruby amber. Nose is very malty with sweet tones of caramel and toffee with some sweet bread to boot. With first sip you are shown that the hops are the star here. A very German style of hop shines through with dry rustic notes. The up front flavor of this beer is very woodsy and carries an almost muted spice profile. The sweetness hides in the back ground and struggles to shine through but is there. I feel like this one stands at more of an authentic representation of the style.

To be fair, trying an Oktoberfest in January isn't exactly ideal

Big draft at Shagger Jacks on Oak Island. Nice dark amber color and super smooth malts. Very nice representation of the style.
