Bomber into a Duvel tulip. Thanks to kingkong for this one!

A: Slightly hazed pale amber body under a finger of frothy white head. Decent retention and some nice lace. Not spectacular, but above average.

S: Tropical and citrus hoppiness melded with caramel malt. Balanced and aromatic. Very nice.

T: Follows the nose - bright fruity hops, solid malt sweetness, and a cleanly bitter finish. Really rich, really tasty. Well done.

M: Creamy carbonation in a medium-to-full body. Substantial without being too heavy. Good.

O: This one had the unenviable position of following Heady Topper, and while it clearly wasn't in the same class as that beer it was still a terrific DIPA. Good balance, tasty flavors, and an impressively restrained alcohol bite. Great beer.

A: orange-tan color with a pretty good head.
S: caramel malt and pine. Just a little citrus. Pleasant but not all that strong.
T: honey, grapefruit, pine, and sweet caramel malt. Biscuity malt flavors jump out more as the beer warms. The finish is long and bitter.
M: medium bodied, light on the carbonation

Seeing Double is aptly named as this beer definitely packs a punch. A little too hot and sweet for me to be having more than a few, but I did enjoy a good 30 oz of the growler. Would rate this below the People's Porter, Total Eclipse, and Hoppyum if you have your choice at Foothills, although all four are well-made beers.

22 ounce bomber poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a 1 finger head and nice lacing.

S: Floral and citrus hops...very sweet smell. Nice and inviting.

T: Great balance of hops and malt. Slight alcohol presence, but it's hard to tell the true ABV. Very easy to drink.

M: Medium to full bodied with good carbonation.

O: Another great offering from Foothills. I'm so lucky to live just a few miles from the brewery.

Poured from a growler into a Duvel Tulip glass

App: Darker than average amber/copper/rusty color pillowy head that lasts for a bit with some solid lacing

Smell: Citrusy hop smell with some pine notes

Taste/MF: Piny and citrusy hop notes with some malty undertones. The mouthfeel is kind of medium-bodied and carbonated.

Drinkability: the 9.5% is noticeable after the first glass and the burn is prevalent in the tasting. I could probably down a few of these but this is a strong brew.

Overall: Not the biggest DIPA I've had by any means, not my favorite, and the burn is very real on this one. I like it but it will be a rare selection for me in the future.

Pours copper with no head, so it's not surprising that it leaves no lacing.

Smells fruity, mainly grapefruit.

Taste is fruity, piney and hoppy. There is also a trace of caramel as well. More malty upfront than hoppy.

Full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation

Very drinkable and easy to enjoy.

Overall, a high quality NC brew, not on the level of the de facto DIPA's but good all the same.
