People's Porter is a robust English-style brew with a dark, ruby hue. Complex chocolate, caramel and toffee notes give way to an herbal bitterness, finishing with a pleasant hint of espresso.

On tap at WECO BEER GARDEN

Pours opaque mahogany color with 1 cm tan head. Spotty lacing with light surface carbonation islands.
Coffees, nuts, cocoa aromas.
Smooth malty mouthfeel. Delicious cocoa tobacco with hint of char. No off notes.
A superior porter.

Poured into a shaker pint: color is dark brown, head is tan and presents 1 finger thick, head lingers and then dissipates to ring, spotty lacing.

Smell is light roast, moderate chocolate, hint of grassy hops, some coffee and caramel with warmth.

Taste is cocoa, roasted malt, toast, caramel, coffee, grass and earthy hops.

Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness, lingering light acidity/bitterness.

Overall a very good porter - maybe leans more hoppy/American in style but still very drinkable and well put together.

Poured up in to my porter/stout glass.

Smell: Chocolate covered cherries, with a hint of coffee.

Taste: Taste follows the nose, with dark chocolate cherries, and coffee, almost like candy. Very little bitterness, and not overly sweet. Almost reminds me of Brach`s chocolate covered cherries, only with coffee in the mix.

Mouth feel: Nice medium body, and very creamy.

Overall: This my friends, is a delicious porter to be enjoyed, and savored slowly. I`m ready for more!!

A microbrewery beer club offering. Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of black coffee and roasted malts. Taste is dark chocolate and black coffee with a slightly bitter finish.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass served at bonefish grill. Unknown bottle date but it tasted fresh. Pours clear nearly opaque ruby red/brown/black color with a small dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing on the glass, with moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas and flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, nuts, caramel, toast, biscuit, pine, citrus peel/rind, wood, herbal, char, light vanilla/smoke/molasses. Moderate pine, rind, wood, charred bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium plus body. Balanced creamy/bready malts, sticky hops, and some resins/char in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin drying after the finish. No acrid/astringent. Very smooth, minimal warming 5.8%. Spot on American style, even though listed as an English style it feels more American from the hop character level. Awesome rich malt complexity and balancing citrus/earthy hops. Loved it.

Pours dark ruby with a 1" tan head, which fades to a wisp. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is strong and roasty, coffee, burned notes.

Taste is coffee grounds, toffee, chocolate, roast malt, black malt.

Full body, light carbonation. Dry, astringent finish.

A nice take on a classic English Porter.

Malty aroma and taste. Robust and full-bodied. Leather and espresso aromas. Slightly sweet, with a hint of coffee on the finish. Sometimes I get a slight licorice note, seems to vary for some reason.

From a bottle.

L - Pour has a slightly below 1" off-tan foam head with a dark brown, at times reddish/ruby body that one can barely see through at times.

S - Very porter, with chocolate/toffee being dominant and a coffee-like scent around the edges. Notes of something slightly hoppy are also present (herbal/earthy variety) but really comes and goes between sniffs.

T - Taste has a nice charred flavor (and feel) to it, with bitter earth notes really helping to dull some of the sweet scents smelled earlier. Nice earthy hops also help to provide some nice complexity and play well with the charred flavor.

F - Feel is a touch below medium bodied, with a slight bite from the charred bitterness.

O - This is an enjoyable porter that is a nice change of pace from some of the sweeter winter stouts/porters one may have at this time of the season.
