Appearance: Pours a very dark brown, near black body with a half-inch, dark beige foam cap.

Smell: Heavy on the roast, cocoa and chewy caramel backed with a soft, subtle fruitiness.

Taste: Bitterish flavor of cocoa powder and roasted malt with a vein of dark caramel sweetness. Slightly nutty. A touch of hop bitterness. Earthy, espresso-y taste. PP finishes out fairly bitterish and roasty.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Decent, drinkable.

Look: Very dark brown, almost black. Good and frothy light brown head.
Smell: Caramel, chocolate, and coffee
Taste: Smooth chocolate and roasted coffee bitterness are prominent, backed by slightly sweet toasty malts, caramel, and toffee. Overall fairly bitter. The finish is like dark chocolate with a little herbal hops.
Feel: Medium body, not too much carbonation. Fairly dry, somewhat astringent.
Overall a great beer. Good combination of different kinds of bitterness (chocolate, coffee, hops) which is balanced well with the malt flavors.

Drank from 12oz bottle.
Smelled very strongly of rich sweet caramel.
Taste was an immediate intense chocolate mixed with caramel and toffee. Fades off smooth and leaves a mild bitter in your mouth.
Overall vey good. Intense taste. Great dessert drink.

L - Black with red hues at the borders. Nice looking porter.
S - Sweet caramel with hints of roasted toffee.
T - Toasty malt, some hops, and ends with strong herbal tones.
F - Well bodied and substantial.

O - A very interesting porter. It has all the elements of a great beer: great color, amazing mouthfeel, and a unique hops and herbs taste. It is not the average generic porter. Will certainly get it again.

From a 12oz bottle. not dated. This is a wonderful heavier bodied porter, drinks more like a stout. This one can go head-to-head with anything I have had lately. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Almost exactly what I'm looking for in a porter, although it might be a tad thinner than I'd like.
