Real-time review here, as I just poured this beer. I need to thank Alex (Masterski) for sending this my way. Thanks a lot!
Pulled from the fridge @ approximately 40F. A bit cool, but I will drink it slowly to let it warm up throughout this review. Poured into two pint glasses.
A: Opens with a slight hiss, as if the carbonation is low. Upon a rather vigorous pour, it starts with a very small head. Then, wait a second, a huge two finger head appears from the depths and creates a gorgeous tan, sticky head. As I watch the head settle, it leaves a noticeable layer of sticky tan foam down the glass. Really, a nice looking beer. Held to the light there are some mahogany hues, but this is pretty much black. Okay, maybe a very dark brown.
S: Really nice Bakers chocolate up front. It starts with the whirl of dark chocolate and cocoa powder, then blends into some coffee and hints of dark fruits (i.e. figs). Nice and complex, but smells rather dry, which I expected from the lager yeast. Very nice.
T: Now that it has warmed a bit, it really gets a nice sweet chocolate, unlike the nose, which had a dark, Bakers chocolate scent. The taste is rather sweet (which surprised me for a Baltic Porter), with deep chocolate, burnt toffee and molasses, and roasted coffee. Only kind of dry - not as much as I would expect for a Baltic Porter.
Overall, a great Baltic Porter. One of the best Baltic Porters I have had. Thanks again Alex.

Outstanding brew! Pours a dark brown color with a full, thick khaki colored head. Scent is of makt, coffee and caramel. Taste follows the nose. A medium to full mouthfeel. Aftertaste is sweet up front, transitioning to coffee bitterness

Sampling a cellar temp 22 oz bottle poured into my snifter. The beer is part of a trade with @Krubes. Thanks!
Beer pours a dark cola brown color with dense khaki colored head of about 1 cm, even with a fairly aggressive pour. The foam fades slowly, with pretty noisy fizzy sound I add, to a clingy edge layer and surface island.
The aroma is mild overall but features, roasted malt with some dark chocolate and a little vanilla too. A little bit of dark fruit, raisin, here too. No hops and no booze.
First sip reveals an average body with fine yet prickly carbonation. The texture is smooth and silky otherwise and the beer drinks pretty dangerously easy for 9%.
Flavor is malty just like the nose predicts.
I get roasted notes and some dark chocolate, this mixes with a bit of raisin and some vanilla and then comes back with roasted malt. the finish also has a hint of black peppery booze, but not really any accompanying warmth. Hops absent here too.
I Enjoy this malty brew and find it easy to drink for 9%. Nice brew and fitting for the style.
