Poured black in color with an one inch tan head that leaves some beautiful lacing on the glass. Lovely chocolate on the nose along with coffee and toffee. Upon tasting you get molasses, chocolate, raisins, and coffee. Wasn't overly thick like most Russian Imperial Stouts and also wasn't really boozy. I like for my R.I.S. to hit me more harder than this, but it was pretty good.

A - Dark body, mostly opaque, dark brown highlights, with a quick fade, tan head, and no real lacing.

S - Dark fruit, cocoa and dark chocolate, a bit of booziness.

T - Follows the nose, with dark chocolate and plum, raisins, and a definite dark toast close, with hints of char and more savory elements.

M - Slick in the open, a bit sticky in the middle, and enough carbonation and drying to largely clear by the end.

O - Together, these elements make for a rich, tasty stout. The only downside is the price is high, since other common stouts do offer a similarly satisfying experience.

Bitter chocolate and coffee are the stars of this beer. Thick chewy mouthfeel. Sweetness and bitterness in harmony. Overall this is an amazing imperial Stout.

A nice finger of creamy head that dissipates over a few minutes, leaving little trace behind. When fresh (bomber labeled February 2017), has a strong bitter character, more from darkly roasted grains than from hops. Having had the barrel-aged variant previously, I'm disappointed in the base beer, to be honest. Perhaps time in the bottle will smooth this out, but right now, this is unbalanced, thin in the mouthfeel department, and not bringing much chocolate to the table. It's still an enjoyable stout, but it's not what I was expecting.

A bomber labeled 10th Anniversary February 2016 poured in a Prairie snifter for the review.

Look- Pours a dark oily brown leaving a generous two plus fingers of mocha foam that slowly settles to reveal some lacing.

Smell- Heavy with dark fruits including figs, dates and raisins. Tobacco and leather follow along with dark chocolate and roasted malt.

Taste- Once again dark fruit forward with tobacco, bakers chocolate and some char.

Feel- Oily and slick to start followed by a semi dry finish.

Overall- A very flavorful stout that reminds me of Stone RIS. Very big and bold which was the norm before everything was thrown in a barrel. I'm a fan and would gladly drink it again. Thanks to BA Dragginballs76 for hooking me up!
