Brewery only release, came via trade, poured into two 12 ounce snifters just above cellar temperature. Pours a nice dark black with lasting head (who doesn't like that?!), it does not disappear at all like many other bba stouts. Nose is of huge bourbon vanilla notes and slight coffee. Taste is more chocolaty, with tons of bourbon and coffee. Overall was just as advertise, a real treat!

22oz Bomber

2013 Bottling

Another big, huge thanks goes out to Wilson for surprising me with this guy. Gracias! The barrel aged version of Sexual Chocolate is as black as a Nubian Princess. Foam as rich as milk chocolate with the silkiness of cocoa butter. The foam coats the glass in sexy, full coverage, transparent lace.

The nose is as rich as granache and as smooth as Marvin Gaye. Big dark chocolate notes thrive thanks to the cocoa nibs. Soft whispers of anise highlight the smooth roastiness amazingly well. The chocolate even brings hints of milk chocolate, slightly sweet. All this is cradled in expertly handled barrel aging. Vanilla wafers, bourbon, oak, and caramel are all soft and meld perfectly with the base stout. There's even a little peppery booze.

The flavor mimics the nose closely. A mixture of dense, dark and milk chocolate combine with a smooth roastiness that runs from start to finish. A rich nuttiness pops up in the middle, fatty...macadamia like. Big notes of vanilla and caramel comes through on the backend. Soft bourbon tones, a touch of coconut, and oak join the fray, all well done. The licorice weaves in and out of the flavor profile. Everything is perfectly integrated. This is a fine beer.

This stout has a fair amount of weight but it's light, airy, and silky smooth. There's absolutely zero stickiness and, in all honesty, a touch of dryness. The roast leaves some residual bitterness while the tannins dry it out. Drinkabilty for a beer this big is ridiculous.

I like Sexual Chocolate, the regular one, it's a good, solid beer. The barrel aged version raises the bar exponentially. It smooths out the licorice notes and adds tremendous depth. The barrel aging is more a compliment to the base than the main component as it is in so many other heavy handed barrel aged beers these days. If you see this beer anywhere, take it and drink it.

One I can finally scratch off my "want" list.2016 bottle 9.6%ABV per bottle label.Pours jet black into a goblet with a creamy mocha colored head atop that settles into a soapy-like mass.Full on bourbon and chocolate in the nose, this is young and pretty brash. The feel is awesome, creamy and smooth with the right fullness for a beer of this size.Bourbon/vanilla and dark fruit really hit ya up front on the palate with chocolate and molasses finishing up the flavor profile, the roast is quite subdued.Well I have finally had it....and it lives up to billing, smooth and the it's not a bourbon bomb, kick ass!

2010 vintage, thanks to hu5om (and e11a627 for getting it for him) for sharing at our christmas tasting!

A: a beautiful black pour, a quickly settling khaki head is observed.

S: a forefront of bourbon followed by sweet chocolate maltiness.

T: similar to smell, an initial warmth of bourbon teases the tongue before phasing into sweet chocolate flavors in a nicely balanced, well rounded flavor.

MF/D: like silk on the tongue, this could be drunk all night. so incredibly smooth.

Thanks to Bob at the Distributors tent at the Indiana Summer Micro Brewers Festival 2011. I'm not sure how he obtained a Growler of this, and I didn't ask.
This beer stole the spotlight of the event from Founders Cashew Mountain.

O: Its one of those beers that is almost perfect in every way that you can't accurately describe it. If you like Abyss, FW14, Zukhavs, Dark Lord, etc. You will like this.

Thanks to Exiled for sharing this bottle. Very excited to try this one.

The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is heavy on the chocolate and roasted malt, with a good bit of whiskey notes present as well. This is definitely a barrel-aged beer.

The flavor is once again dominated by chocolate and roasted malt notes. There is also a good bit of bourbon, maple and vanilla notes which compliment the malt and chocolate notes very well.

Medium to thick motuhfeel and low to medium carbonation. Very nice.
