this is a good pumpkin beer. is a clean brownish amber. the smell is filled with spices- cinnamon and nutmeg, also there are hints of vanilla. there taste starts off spicy but quickly fades to a watery finish. over all this cottonwood pumpkin is drinkable, I have had a few weak pumpkin beers this year. this one definitely brings it up front, but it falls short on the back end. not too shabby.

The bottle I got looks completely different than what is listed in the picture on this page.

Anyway, the one I bought was good and worth trying. It's that first sip that caught my attention.

The other bottles I bought were not all that (I got it in a 6-pck case), but this first bottle I drank hit the spot.

I could smell the pumpkin scent and it smelled fine.

It may not be the greatest pumpkin ale that I have had, but certainly worth trying.

Poured into pint glass from a 12 oz bottle. Good pumpkin color with a nice head. Smells of cinnamon and cloves. Initial tastes bring about pumpkin, cloves, cinnamon, but the spice is not over powering. Not a lot of carbonation, very drinkable though. Overall, this beer seems to be a sessionable option for a pumpkin ale. Would buy again.

Haven't had this pumpkin ale yet ever still never even seen a Foothills beer so this is kind of exciting.
A - Bright clear orange brown tint beer with just a 1/4 inch of head that settles to a mild lace ring
S - Strong nutmeg and cinnamon with a mild vegital tone and some brown sugar. Hope it taste balanced.
T - Kind of oak flavors off the bat then strong spicing of cinnamon and nutmeg with no noticeable hops just some vegital green followed by some brown sugar sweetness.
M - Drinks well mostly medium bodied and slick. Very good.

Overall first beer by this company and they got there own interpretation of the style down pretty well. Tasty stuff.
