Had this from a cask at the Busy Bee in Raleigh. Tastes like a Hillshire farm sampler pack. Absolutely glorious. Smokey, bacon-y taste. Who can complain about that?

Pint served at the Trailhead pub in Black Mountain NC

A: deep red-brown. Clear, with fine carbonation visible. A lasting white head leaves fine lacing.

M: wonderfully rich and creamy for style, with a medium+ body and excellent carbonation. Finishes dry.

Has the special maltiness I find in my favorite brown ales, with a perfect amount of spicy hops serving as an accent. Rich medium malt finish.

O: At least as good as any red ale I've ever had (not counting great imperial reds like Lagunitas Imperial Red Ale or Stone Levitation), with a mouthfeel better than any. Very satisfying, although it did not work as well with some spicy tacos as the tripel that preceded it.

Served from growler into a shaker. Poured a dark red-orange with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, caramel, earth, and caramel hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, caramel, caramel hop, and wheat. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. Nothing on this one really stood out to me unfortunately. Granted this style isn't really known for it robust flavors and aromas for the most part. Fairly easy to drink, but the taste wears on you after awhile when drinking a growler. Worth trying if you get the chance. Tick.
