Embrace the long winter nights in the company of Frostbite Black IPA. A careful blend of barley and roasted wheat malts deliver a clean finish, backed up by a big blast of Pacific North West aroma hops.

Great blend of a dark beer and an IPA. Lots of hop and aroma and a smooth dark beer finish.

Poured into a Dogfish traditional oversized snifter. Freshness date is smudged.
A- Pours a mostly opaque black color with a 1/2 inch tan head that retains decently before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves a thick solid ring behind.
S- The somewhat pungent hop aroma is earthy yet floral and there's a sturdy malt backbone.
T- Great balance of hop character and bitterness along with the roastiness and slight sweetness of the malt. Tangy, even a bit bright and just the slightest trace of smoke.
M- Slightly sharp with medium carbonation and a fullish body.
O- Definitely one of the best Black IPAs I've ever had. The balance is the key here with no one element overriding the other and every one working in harmony. Excellent hop character with the malt complementing every step of the way. Kickass.
