12 oz bottle served in a snifter.
Pours near black with a decent head that has some legs and leaves bands of lacing on the glass.
Aroma: as expected hops, an an IPA level, with some sweet and dark malts.
Flavor: about equal mix of dark and very dark roasted grains and earthy/herbal hops. Medium bitterness. Both hops anddark roast linger on and on in the aftertaste.

O: fairly easy drinking and tame black IPA, yet flavorful, as the malts and hops partly neutralize each other.

A - very dark brown, not quite black. Reddish around the edges. Poured a 1 finger head that has pretty good retention. Good lacing

S - Piney hops, with roasted malts. The hops come through up front though. Also an underlying booziness. little bit of a funk in there too that I'm not sure how to describe, i think its due to the mending of smells between the strong hops and malts together.

T - Very good. The hop bitterness hits up front but the malts quickly fall in. Like the smell the hop presence is mostly pine notes, with some citrus notes to boot. The malts offer roasted chocolate and coffee flavors. Somewhat boozy finish.

M - full with excellent carbonation level. Somewhat resinous. Much like a good IPA.

O - Very good overall and somewhat unique. Almost reminds me of a blend between a porter and an IPA.
