750ml bottle, 2012 vintage. Served at cellar temperature. Been looking for this guy for quite a while and very excited to try it out.

Pours very dark brown to black with a one finger foamy brown head that settles to a nice creamy cap and leaves some short-lived lacing behind.

Aroma is overripe dark fruits, a little acidic, some oxidation, some chocolate. Good but not great strength.

The flavor is mighty impressive. Big time rich chocolate and in-your-face dark fruits, dates, figs, raisins, tart cherries. Rather sweet. Minimal bitterness. Some alcohol on the finish but not bad for 10%.

Mouthfeel is medium-plus, nearly full bodied, good carbonation, a little sticky.

Excellent Baltic Porter. While the aroma is only OK, the flavor is fantastic. Very rich and complex.

Style is too sweet for my taste but clearly a great one for the style. Intense and no booze - impressive

Poured from bottle into my Cheers drinking mug.

A) This is dark brown, pretty much black. There was a nice 2 finger khaki colored head that settled to a dusting. There was a good amount of sticky lacing.

S) The aroma is of dark roasted malt and smoke. There is a sweetness, like brown sugar slowly cooking down. As this warms there is also some pleasing pipe tobacco.

T) There are quite a few layers here. I picked up coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, drown sugar and a hint of sweet rum. This has an earthy/woody finish, and an aftertaste of smoke. The 10% ABV is remarkably well masked.

M) Rather full bodied, and lightly carbonated. This beer is rich and very smooth. A pleasure to drink.

O) Absolutely delicious... I wish I had another one of these in the cellar. Highly recommended...

Pours dark brown with. 1cm creamy parchment coloured had that falls to a frothy film and ring that leaves good lacing. Aroma: leather, sour cherry, toast. Flavour: Prunes, Chocolate, dark cherries, raisins. Despite the high ABV the alchohol warmth is minimal. Full flavoured, creamy but not too heavy. This is an extraordinarily fine beer.

This is a great beer, and spot on for style, the bottle I have to review is a bit young, but still excellent.

Pours deep black with a deep red tint and mocha head.

Smells of Cherry, raisin, hints of chocolate.

The nose translate well to the taste with nice malt roundness and a touch of heat from the ABV.
