I've been waiting so long to try partly because I've never tried an Imperial Weizen.

This Été 2010 edition is 8%

Loud, high-pitched pop of the cork.

A- So hazy it's almost opaque peach. Thick, creamy yummy off white head. The consistant centimeter thick layer that's left after a few minutes is almost gelatin like. Long strands of lace go all around the glass.

S- Green tea and chamomille is what I got right away. Mix that with some hop honey. The smell is both warming and fresh. This is different and good.

T- Quite bitter early in the taste. Very herbal hop taste bordering on boiled vegetable but still tasty. Not the booziness I was kind of expecting. Instead, a much more discrete but omnipresent alcohol. Some mint and tropical fruit but I don't know which one. Tastes right. Pretty sweet and bitter. Not much harmony in the taste with everything just poping up one at a time throughout. Green tea and chamomille make another appearance in the finish.

M- Creamy is the general feel but the high carbonation keeps it all lively. Some dryness but it's just so sweet that you tend to notice it less.

D- Drinking this offers a nice experience. The taste and mouthfeel kind of keep your senses on their toes. But I'm just not having trouble pacing myself with this one (which is often an indication of a very drinkable brew!)

A very good beer. Nothing to really blow me away but a solid product. A stronger, more concentrated Weizen. I guess they chose the right name for this one.
Not an incredible brew but I do suggest it. Will buy the next edition to see how it's imporved/changed.

A: Opaque burnt orange color with tan head. The is head looks creamy and stays for quite some time.

S: Very floral and fruity. Orange, pineapple, pear, plum, green apple skin, lemon zest and banana are there. Strong malty smell. Caramel, honey and brown sugar as well as toffee are present.

T: Follows what the smell indicated. Lots of fruits, pretty much the same as mentioned above but the dominant tastes would be: lemon zest, green apple skin, pineapple and banana. The malts give it a GREAT foundation. Lots bread like taste, wheat, buckwheat. Lots of sweetness too: honey and caramel and brown sugar are still present. Cuts dry at the end with some herbal/floral hops. Some alcohol.

M: Medium/heavy body. Medium carbonation to keep the "fresh" feel of this beer.

D: Very powerful brew and since the alcohol is a bit present, I don't think I'd take more than one of these.

Always fun to review regional beers...
pour is golden a shit.. honesty. I expected this to be a nice bottle conditioned beer, and it is the clearest goldenest color I have seen in a beer.
nose is full of hay and grass...
taste is exactly what I would expect from the nose... hay... boring hay. booze comes through, to break up the boring... but it is ultimately boring.... this is just an average imperial whit... though I can think of any other imperial whit... so I guess this is great?

Came in a 750ml corked and caged bottle. Swirl poured into a glass mug. Huge bubbly tan head on a hazy, nearly opaque yellowish brown. Good head retention. Big sweet malt smells. Lots of fruit and bread notes. Rich multilayered flavours. Bread banana, citrus. A non cloying sweetness. A nice dry hoppy finish. The 10% alcohol is not apparent. A medium body with moderate carbonation. Drinkability is very good. Only the high alcohol keeps it from being a session beer. An outstanding and original wheat.

I'm not sure if a 10% beer qualifies as an American Pale Wheat but hey, who am I to categorize? I picked this up after a thread on BA mentioned it.

Looks very nice from the pour. A hazy, amber brown colour with a large offwhite head that settled to a solid cap. Some lacing is left behind.

The smell is soft. I had trouble putting my finger on it and so did my wife. We both get fruit and are leaning towards peaches and pineapples.

The taste is a bit like drinking spiked fruit punch. There's so much fruit complexity blended in with some light hop bitterness it's hard to describe. Banannas, pineapple and other ripe tropical fruits are up front, middle and even in the aftertaste. It's a touch on the sweet side for my tastes but still complicated enough to keep me coming back for more. I really enjoy the vanilla notes in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is really nice. Silky smooth and it helps this strong beer go down quite well. Speaking of which the alcohol is hidden magnificently.

Drinkability is good for a beer of this strength.

750ml Bottle with cork cap.

Appearance: Beautiful murky caramel color with a hint of dried apricot.

Smell: amazing sweet English butter Toffee with Candied Strawberries. A nice mineral freshness buried amongst the sweetness.

Taste: Butter Toffee, Candied Fruits, Overripe banana. Very very rich and delicious.

Mouthfull: THICK and SMOOTH

Exceptional beer by another great Quebec brewery.

750ml to stemless tulip.

I had the 2010 vintage so the abv is now at 8% not 10.

Pours a hazy golden orange with almost 3 fingers of head. (could be the operator not the beers issue)

Smells malty sweet with a bit of fruit, slight citrus smell near the end.

Taste is very nice. Notice a bit of fruitiness and general sweetness in the front. Balances nicely with a dry slightly bitter finish, though a definite yeast hint hits right at the end. The carbonation is slightly obnoxious on the tongue at first, but really mellows out as you drink it.

Paired well with baked ham and other rich foods.
Its a nice beer, and a nice drink though not as high on my list of repeatables as some others from Trois Musquetairs.

Corked bottle with no best before date. Champagne styled brew...

Appearance is a hazy golden, with amber hues and a thick foggy wheat bier look. Enticing indeed! Good head, two fingers of thick, creamy white. Lacing is generous and sticks about the glass the whole way down.

Smells of cracked wheat, butter, peppery noted, molases and honey, some fennel and metallic.

Taste... this is an imperial wheat ale indeed! Malty upfront with an alcoholic kick, subdued by the peppery notes in the nose. A subdued but still noticeable noble hop tanging in the top of the mouth lingering spicy and floral finish, this is a balanced yet "animated" bier with tons of character!

Mouthfeel is ripe and full. Poured with agitated sediment, this is a silky and smooth brew. This is paired well with some medium cheddar and a nice wheat biscuit.

Overall: Damnit! Belgium does not have the corner on good, strong wheat beers! I say belgium as this is a wheat beer with the backbone of a belgian tripel... Maybe this is my newbyness coming through, but this is a unique brew. I will be picking up a couple more bottles for long term aging just to see what we can get out of this lovely, french canadian American Pale Wheat Ale... like a sexy one night stand, will hit again (^_^!)
