This was like a second home to me, and I can't say enough good things about the staff here. Great food and a menu that changes often to go with a hand full of great beers. Always have a couple casks conditioned beers available and they have rotating beers probably every week if not every couple of days.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch and a beer and to renew my memory of the place. I've been here several times in the distant past but never rated/reviewed it here on BA. The pub occupies four storefronts in a classic old building along a busy street in downtown. (The street is closed presently, probably for a social district.) There is seating in all four sections of the brewery, and two sections have a bar, although I think one is just overflow when the place is busy. The main bar has seating. Some sidewalk seating is also available. The brewing equipment is situated at the front of one of the sections. The interior is very typical of the interior of a pub with a lot of wood and brick finishes on the walls. There were a couple TVs in the bar section but I didn't look in the other areas. I liked the vibe. The place was not busy at mid-afternoon on a Wednesday, so service was very good.
There are 11 taps plus two hand-pulls for cask ale (only 8 beers were available). The Sheerwater Burton-style IPA and a version of their Urban War Bear IPA that had roasted citrus were the two beers on cask, I didn't notice these two cask options until we were ready to leave, but the bartender gave me a taste of each. The Sheerwater was outstanding. I had the Pivo Czech Pils, and my wife had the Steelhead Red Ale. Both were very tasty.
The food that we ordered was also very good. They have some liquor and wine as other drink options. Beer is available to go in growlers. This place is a very worthy visit.

What a fantastic find! Grizzly Peak is a brewery and gastropub located just south of the University of Michigan campus. On stepping in, I immediately noted that there were two separate bars at either end of the location with two hand drawn, cask ales and an additional dozen or so house brews. Lots of wood paneling and brass provide authenticity and ambience. Ample seating, the server was lovely and the food was really excellent. I thought the two cask offerings were top notch. Also, fantastic place to watch Michigan games, if you don't have tickets. This is our go-to place in Ann Arbor.

We had a smoked turkey sandwich with gouda. It was good but nothing stood out. Service was ok on a Saturday afternoon. We had a two year old with us and they did seat us in an area that would allow a high chair without being in an aisle. After our beers were ordered, it did take a little longer than expected to get them considering the place was at least 75 % empty. The server never brought the grilled cheese sandwich that was ordered for the 2 year old. Thankfully, it was not on the tab either. The server was not a student, over 30 at least. Only mentioned because Ann Arbor is a collage town.

Another cool spot on the streets of Ann Arbor. I wish they had a better beer selection. Wasn't impressed with their in house IPA or their Sour Wheat Ale either. Cool outdoor patio area we were able to bring our dogs and sit under the sun. They even have a doggy treat menu.

The food we didn't really eat, we just had an appetizer which were soft pretzels, the pretzels were nice and soft but the sauce was not good at all but luckily their Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard saved it, the beer selection was small but not too bad though. I had a Bear Paw Porter which was really good it had hints of Roasted Coffee beans and Hazelnut I then had the County Cork Irish Stout. This is a very watered down version of a Stout. It was not good in fact I don't even want to finish hut I don't waste beer. The service was quiet but they brought our food and beer on a timely manner. Don't know if I would go here again because the beer didn't meet my standards.

Funny, I always forget about Grizzly Peak when I think about when I found the micro movement. I've been drinking here since 1996 (or 97) when I lived in Ann Arbor and was here pretty regularly for the next few years until I left. I wish I could get back more often. Atmosphere is pretty chill. The beer is average to good. What has always stood out for me is the beer cheese soup at Grizzly Peak.

Cool rustic brewpub in the university entertainment district. All the wood gives the place the feeling of a lodge in the wilderness. Well assorted tap list and fast friendly bartenders.
