Poured from a 750mL thanks to Jason. Faint indistinct whiff of soured malt. Darker amber spectrum, with a little mud and thin rim of tan. Flavor starts peppery and develops a lot of classic standard Belgian yeast flavor. The malt body feels conflicted and somewhere between thin and not quite satisfying. Fruit shows up as meaty stems. Lots of green blueberry stems for sure. Bits of sourness, but not really enjoy to mark it heavily. Zesty. Really doesn't come across as a lambic. More of a fruit beer.

Wow, a rare blueberry lambic from 2006. I'd never even heard of this beer. Served in a Drie Fonteinen tulip.

A - Two-fingers of pink-tinged foam that settles to a partial cap and thick collar, but minimal lace. Purple-red opaque body.

S - Super lactic - tastes like yogurt with blueberry skins, a touch of kalamata olive, some tropical brett, and a bit of oaky vanilla.

T - Unfortunately the taste isn't quite as good. There's mild blueberry and lactic acidity, but it's mostly gritty soda water and a touch of vanilla. Carbonation really impedes whatever flavor is present here.

M - Overcarbonated, medium-light body, gritty texture, and a super dry finish.

D - The carbonation really makes this taste more like blueberry seltzer water than any sort of lambic. Unfortunately I didn't have the patience to wait for the bubbles to die down to see if there was a better beer hidden in here. Interesting to try, but either past its prime, or just not a great beer to begin with.
