Available throughout the year, this superb golden ale continues to win awards. A pale, golden coloured brew with a full bodied fruity flavour with distinct nutty tomes and a hoppy, zesty, orange aroma, derived from First Gold and Cascade hops. Excellent brewing resulted in Ossian being judged the Champion Beer of Scotland.

A - Dark golden color, a bit hazy, centimeter of head resides to a short lacing after a short while
S - In the front are toffee and caramel flavors, some more nutty and other toasty malt flavors in the background. lightly fruity. Hop aromas are spicy and flowery.
T - The caramel and toffee are also here in the front, and is really well balanced with a firm bitterness which is fairly pronounced in the middle of tasting it. The finish is fairly dry, and the bitterness is not as pronounced.
M - Medium carbonation, medium body. Bitterness is a tiny bit harsh for my taste.
O - Awesome beer, could drink lots of pints of this. I really like this way of balancing a malty beer, though maybe the bitterness is just slightly too much for me. Great as a session ale.

Oct. 2008: 500 ml bottle, bought at Lørenskog Brus-Shop. ABV is 4.1%. Golden colour, decent white head. Lovely aroma of fruity and floral hops, notes of honey. The flavour has distinct hops throughout, with grapefruity and nutty notes. Refreshing and moreish. Plenty of hoppy bitterness in the long aftertaste.
March 2017: Cask pint at Ma Cameron’s, Aberdeen. Golden colour, white head, nice lacing. Malty aroma, notes of toffee, hints of malt vinegar. The flavour is malty and fruity, medium dry, again hints of malt vinegar, but the beer is not sour. Fairly distinct bittering hops in the finish.

Cask. Sparkler fitted. Golden amber with a thin frothy head.
Light aroma of citrus fruit and toffee malt.
Tastes similar. Mild bitter flavour.
Low carbonation. Light to medium body.
Rather forgettable.

Bottle from Tesco. Clear golden, fizzy white head. Sweet aroma, grainy, notes of honey. Taste brings an edge of bitterness, bready, grainy flavors and a touch of honey. The bitterness is enough to distract me from the sweet malty flavors. Near miss for me.

500ml bottle from Aldi supermarket, drank at home:
This one was a very easy to drink beer that went down a treat & came through with a good balance but at the same time nothing really stands out for me. I liked the beer, it was a smooth one with nice touches of sweetness & good bitterness throughout; good stuff from Inveralmond but not quite great.

500 ml bottle purchased and consumed in Fife, Scotland. BB date stamp of July 2016 (more than 1 year away). (Rating slightly increased upon tasting of cask version near th brewery in May 2016),
Appearance: true to style, this is very pale golden with plenty of visible carbonation and a white head. Exceptional sticky lacing.
Extra hops add spicing to this ale that also has more malts than expected for style. Mild caramel and vanilla notes. Easy drinking with plenty of flavor.
O: recommended. Not entirely true to style, this version is more flavorful, appealing and interesting than average.
