Two hand-pulled pints in The Cock Hotel Wellington on 20 April 2012.
Golden brew with a good deep head of white bubbles on top: tried to stay the distance and almost managed too.
The nose a mixed bag of smells: mild malts with a pleasant fruity hop content.
The taste is also a good, interesting blend with again the malts coming first followed by the bittering hops with a more citrus hint than in the smell. Well balanced and semi-sweet in the after-taste, makes a change from the now almost normal blonde hoppy brews being brewed up and down the country.

Described on the bottle as
A golden beer brewed especially for the centenary of Chester's famous Eastgate clock.
The fruity foretaste is followed by a mellow acceptic finishing of hops.
winning Ale at the Ludlow Food & Drink Festival 2002
awarded "Champion Beer of Chesire"
Macclesfield Beer Festival 2003
Poured out as a slightly cloudy amber body with tight white bubbled head that isn't big but sticks.
Big hops hit in the aroma with castor sugar and malts.
quite a taste going on syrups and malts and hops with the slightest bitter flick at the end, a bit sugary but still pretty good.
Good carbonation and an alright mouthfeel makes an a session ale for those with a sweet tooth.
