I've been here twice now--once in the summer and once, just last night, in the dead of winter, and I feel it's safe to say that Miracle of Science is a bar for all seasons. The place is a very small, triangular space on a corner with big windows on the two long walls. There is a bar to the back left wall with a very small kitchen behind it, bench tables along the edges and a few small tables in the middle. The decor is interesting--a sort of technical chic I guess, with lots of metal and wood complementing the exposed brick walls. The beer selection is rather small, but with some very nice beers--including Brooklyn Lager and Victory Hop Devil. I have yet to try the food, but it smells and looks very good. The staff is incredibly friendly and amusing. This is a really interesting and fun place with a nice, if somewhat limited beer selection.

I stopped by Miracle of Science on Tuesday night after work. I had been by this place many times over the years and was glad to finally check it out. It's a mid-sized bar with a science themed d├ęcor including a periodic table menu on the wall. There is one mini TV in the corner of the bar dwarfed by an array of hard liquor bottles. There were 6 taps with highlights that included Brooklyn Lager, Harpoon UFO, Ipswich Ale, Bass, Guinness & Victory Hop Devil. There are also about 15 bottles, but nothing overly impressive with a Magic Hat #9 being one of the better options.

The food was enjoyable and satisfying. The cheeseburgers here are really good. As an alternative to french fries, the burgers are served with roasted red potatoes. Service was prompt and courteous. Atmosphere provided a good time with great music that included Sam Cooke.

I had a positive experience overall and would recommend the MOS in any Central Square pub crawl. Be warned though, this place is a favorite of the area and can become crowded quickly.

Smallish type place between Central Sq. and MIT--located in sort of a weird location. Windows on all sides of the bar allow you to see in/out. There's probably about 15 tables in the bar area and 9 seats at the bar. Seats are those highschool metal stools, which can get a bit uncomfortable. A couple of tv's behind the bar. The menu is on a chalk board in the style of the table of elements. You have to squint if you're far away, but it's worth it. A good crowd of mid career types with your usual college seniors as well--definitely a chill vibe.

Food is really the best thing about this place. Interesting array of stuff. You've got your burgers, chicken sandwiches, quesadillas, chili, and salad, but then you've got shrimp kabobs, chicken kabobs and other goodies. Eclectic in my mind, but good bar food nonetheless. Our waitress wasn't too attentive and didn't know much about the beer. At one point when we weren't ready to order she walked away...too bad for her I guess. Food prices were relatively cheap--ranging from $4-9.

Beer selection was slim with only 6 taps, but it's quality over quantity right? On tap included guinness, bass, harpoon ufo, Victory hopdevil, Brooklyn lager, and Ipswich ale. Not bad in my opinion. Bottles could use a bit of help. of the 16 bottles, craft beers only included 2--sierra nevada pale and magic #9. This is where they could really improve their selection and start to get a crowd. The quality was good for the most part--hop devil pitchers were hoppy as ever. Prices for beer was excellent, especially with the pitcher price of around $14.

A nice after work spot or a place you'd hit before going on a real pub crawl. Nice chill atmosphere with good music and always at least one good beer on tap--usually Brooklyn. I dig this joint and will be back.

I love Miracle of Science. My rating may come out low-ish because our service really wasn't great tonight (bjohnson and I went for dinner and pitchers of Hop Devil with a couple of friends), but nonetheless, it's one of my favorite spots. I think it's a great bar--small and cozy, with seats at the bar (you can sit there and watch your food being cooked) and then some tables and chairs around the perimeter of the space. The food selection isn't huge, but that's just what I have been saying that bars should do--focus on making a just a few delicious things. They have burgers, quesadillas, chicken sandwiches/salads, and then the skewers--the shrimp skewers are absolutely delicious. Really. The beer selection is good--they have six (I think) taps with a good range of beer--I think they had Hop Devil, Brooklyn Lager, Ipswich, UFO, Bass and Guiness tonight. I think it's a good place to go and have an inexpensive bite to eat and a few beers...

This was the first stop on a Friday afternoon pub crawl. Decent crowd inside. I like this place because it sits right on the street and has plenty of windows to make it a scenic joint. Has a chalkboard periodic table which I thought was very cool. Got a seat at the bar an ordered a Victory Hop Devil. The bartender seemed nice enough. There were six beers on tap and about 15 bottles, of which Victory was the most exotic. The selection didn't blow me away. Sitting at the bar, I did get to watch the cook prepare food, which looked good and made me want to come back to eat. But I wouldn't come back here to simply drink.

We stopped in here as a second stop for the night. The idea was a beer and go - well four beers later we finally left. The place is very comfortable and bartender/manager were fantastic. The place is on the corner and there is many seating options. The bar fits 8/10 - it curves at the end. There are high tables, a shelf along the outside, and multiple tables. There is a food menu on the wall that is color coordinated to signify spicy, etc. I was very happy when surprisingly they opened a garage door on to the back road. Very nice for the feel of the place.

Beer wise the place is ok but they do good with what they have. There are 8 taps with Brooklyn, Smuttynose, Guinness, Bass, Stella and a couple others. The bottle list is large but needs some more specialty. There are a few nice selections - Sierra Nevada, Magic Hat, Brooklyn and a couple others.

The food is a great part of this place. We got the Quesidillas - very nice. The grill is right next to the bar and from our seats we were able to watch the cooks - they made everything fresh and I did not see anything that I did not want to try.

Definitely a great stop - beer could get better, but there is a few to make this a good place to hit.
