Loved this place, a must stop if in Copenhagen. Owner is very nice and personable. Was there for the Blabaer release which was crazy. Usually every year after the release it is available in house for at least a few weeks. Small selection when compared to US craftbeer stores but still probably the best around that area.

I Stopped here a few times while in Copenhagen on business. Morten was very friendly and helpful, great advice on local beers and local bars.

You can drink on site, I chose to order a Blabaer because why not? I was lucky it was that time of year.

Lots of great Danish beers, also some choice Belgian and USA stuff. Good IPAs if you're in town from the USA and feeling homesick. Everything was in coolers too.

Two thumbs up!

rolled in on a Thursday at 1:30 as Morten was getting set up a dealing with a shipment. Despite that he was helpful and took some time to chat. Friendly vide, lots of good Mikkeller, To Olt adn what you'd expect. Had some Cantillion there I grabbed a bottle of Rose De G and must agree with Morten - "It's the best pink beer there is". Just up the street from Mikkeller.

Let me start by saying I'm not generally a review type of person but my experience leaves me compelled.

I had a beyond great vacation in many aspects and my 2 visits here were highlights of the trip. My girlfriend and I came by on a Thursday evening only to find them closed, this turned out to be a good thing. We made our way over the following day, of course this time in the rain, but still very enthusiastic. I browsed the selection and was thrilled to find Blabaer bottles for on-site consumption tucked away in the cooler. I grabbed one and proceeded to the register. Morten, with a smile nearly as big as my own, took the bottle, grabbed us a couple glasses and popped the cork. After sharing the bottle with him and his friend John, more of his friends began to wander in. Little did I know that Friday typically involves him and his friends sharing beer, whiskey, snacks, suggestions, and stories. This turned into a fantastic night! Morten, John, Andrew, and Michael (sorry for butchered Americanized spellings!) and the rest of the gang were all awesome!

We came back a few nights later and shared more beer and snacks, chatted like old friends, and had a generally great time. Morten's friend Michael (again, sorry if the spelling is wrong) was nice enough to take my girlfriend and I out for a couple of beers at another local spot.

5 stars across the board. Selection, pricing (Copenhagen is expensive in general, but his prices were better than others we visited), service and everything else. Normally, when I travel to Europe I don't hit the same city twice, for the sake of variety and experience but I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Copenhagen and visiting with these great people.

This is a really good beer store, and on top of that it's a place where you can actually consume what you want to buy on the premises.

Selection here is really solid, with a surprising amount of varied American craft beers if that's what you want to get your fix. Highlights also include Cantillon from Belgium as well.

Like most things in the country, the place is not cheap, but nothing horribly outrageous either. But it was without question the most diverse and best selection I ever saw. The guy who runs the place is also really nice and talkative. If you want some special beer and that's what you love it's a must stop

What a great place! Had Facebooked Morten earlier from States, and was informed to expect fun and sharing a few beers. Well...all that and more. Started by meeting/greeting with Morten and my wife; then with others visiting/drinking in the store that afternoon. Bought a bottle of Blabaer out of the cooler and shared with everyone in store. On Site only drinking since it wasn't release day. But this broke the ice. Soon all of us (including Morten) were picking and sharing beers. Just an amazing time surrounded by coolers full of amazing beers. It was a wonderful combination of top notch beer store and very nice place to sit and talk with other beer fans from around the world. Maybe it was the lazy Saturday afternoon, but it was just a special stop with people who shared a passion for top quality beer. Can't say enough good things about Morten. We spoke and shared beer like old friends...despite his having had his eye scratched the night before by his baby. Just a great guy. And also a great guide to finding special beers. Left with a bag of great beers and even better memories. This is a must stop.

Visited July 6th of 2012.

A basement shop, with not a lot of atmosphere. About a 8 minute walk from the main train station. Clean but just a bunch of fridges lining the walls. Beers are pricey, but they have probably around 60 or so different bottles. IPAs are around 35-40 kroner, and the Danish porter fridge, they started around 75 kroner. They have mostly Danish and Belgian beers. Fridges are sorted by style. The workers there were nice and you can even drink beers there at an additional fee.

As I come from the south of Sweden I always make sure to visit Copenhagen and Ölbutikken when I visit my parents.
I take the ferry to Helsingör and then the train to Copenhagen. It´s just a short walk from the central station.

The atmosphere and esthetics are very clean. But what grips me is the selection!
This is by no comparison number one for beer in Scandinavia!
Good selection of all Danish breweries but also a great selecion in american and central european beers!
And prices are really reasonable in Scandinavian standards, some what cheaper than the Swedish systembolaget.

A must visit if you´re in Copenhagen!

Note: I visited Olbutikken only a couple weeks after the Copenhagen Beer Festival and their selection was basically cleared out. I envision that they'd have a much broader selection any other time of the year.

I walked past the store and missed it on our first pass, so be aware as you look for this small place. Clean, simple, and a little table to have a couple beers while shopping (if you want to pay the drink-in price). The employee poured me a sample saison from a pin, which was great as we walked around.

There is not a bad beer in the place, and I'd guess that virtually every beer on the shelves is at least an A- on BA. You can even get some solid American brews that are tough to get in the U.S. (FFF, Maine, etc.).

Now, as I said, after Copenhagen beer festival, the shelves were pretty sparse, so that's my only complaint. There were great beers, but not anything truly epic/rare. I missed blabaer by about 4 days, sadly, but I still managed to fill up my backpack with some great Mikkeller bres and others.

Prices were fantastic for Scandinavia, and even solid compared to the U.S. (example: Fou Foune was like $17). Definitely a must-visit.

My first ever visit to Copenhagen and having checked into my hotel the very first place I had to find was Ølbutikkem in Oehlenschlægersgade off of Vestebrogade.

This is an amazing beer store, friendly, very helpful and with an immaculately shelved selection of many of the greatest beers from all over the world. Very easy to browse as so tidy!

It is also the only place in the world where you will be able to buy Cantillon's Blåbær (when released) and therefore, this time around my return flight luggage space was reserved for the bottles that Jeppe had kindly put aside for me. Although I still found room for a pristine bottle of Alesmith Speedway Stout to keep the Blåbær company on the flight home.

I hope to retrun to Ølbitikken as often as possible as there were so many other gems I would like to buy in the future. Copenhagen itself is also a wonderful city with Nyhavn, Tivoli, The Mikkeller Bar in Viktoriagade, the Rundetaarn & Kastellet
being my other highlights... along with the canal tours!

A great weekend! Thanks Jeppe and thanks Copenhagen!

I've heard about this place because of Blabaer of course but there is much more going on here and a must stop by. It has very weird hours so make sure you check the website before just dropping by as it is a little far away from the train station and nice parts of town...We showed up a little early but they were already open which was nice and allowed me to spend some time talking to Jeppe, the owner and twin brother of Mikel from Mikkeller. Jeppe is a very nice and knowledge guy, helped me pick out many beers that no way I would have picked up...Of course my reason for going was to get blabaer as the website said they were stocked, sadly when I got there they have sold out the last day they were open. Hugely disappointing of course, but Jeppe did hook me up with one bottle from the back so I was very grateful...As far as the beer goes its a very nice selection, tons of mikkeller and belgians (westy, rare de dolles), a few cantillons but not as rare as I was hoping. Tons of american brews and not easy ones to get. If your an American no need to check those out but if you don't have access, there are ones worth getting. The price I thought was very fair.

Overall, a great place to go even if Blabaer isn't there, but maybe sometime in 2011 you plan a special trip to get the blabaer as that is the next time it will be out.

If you are in copenhagen and like to find hard to get beers, PLEASE stop here!

While the selection is not huge, the quality more then makes up for it. No matter where you live in the world you will find a few bottles that are hard to find...Westie 8 & 12, Lost Abbey, Mikeller specialities, etc.

With they high percentage of high quality beers on the shelf, I would prefer to see them kept colder and out of the sunlight. However, with the limited selection I'm guessing that they have high turnover.

While you will pay for the quality, being able to bring a Black Albert out of your cellar is well worth the $.

A must stop while in Copenhagen.

Whoever thought such a great beer store could be found in Copenhagen? Unbelieveable selection. About 300+ beers, but all high quality...including harder to find US microbrews like Lost Abbey. Also carried Three Floyds, Cpt Lawrence, Founders and The Bruery...Of course they carry anything made by Mikkeller...and they even had Westy 8. Price seemed reasonable for the selection. Service was great - highly knowledgeable about not only the Dannish beer scene, but also the American craft beers. They also had a great selection of Cantillon.

Store is very small...but with their selection, it really doesn't matter. They are truly focused on offering only quality beer...not pleasing the masses. I could have spent a few hours in the store between browsing and talking with one of the owners. This is definitely a must visit store if you ever find yourself in Denmark...or even the region!

In this part of the world (northern Europe) it is very unusual to see a beer store with a selection of such quality. They don't have the widest selection for sure, but the beers they have are remarkable. Of course, they have a great selection of high quality Scandinavian beers. But it's their Belgian and American selection that really is impressive. They constantly get new very limited beers from the best breweries in the US.

Service is good with a really dedicated and well informed staff. Their website is always updated with plenty of info on styles, prices etc.

Opening hours is a bit limited, though. But that's of minor importance. Ølbutikken is the best alternative for buying world class beer around here.

Like other reviews suggest, this is the place to visit for Danish brews. Just utterly fantastic. It is definitely a smaller place, but the selection and quality of brews stocked is really amazing.

Loads of Danish brews, including many new releases from Mikkeller, and there is a great selection of Belgians as well. The U.S. selection actually made me jealous...Alesmith, Three Floyds, Pizza Port, etc.

Service was great, engaging, helpful, and thoughtful. Just can't say enough good things about the place. Just wish I could have access to this store on a regular basis. Fantastic, and a must stop while in Copenhagen.

As an American, the "beer store" is heaven. Jeppe stocks what I am guessing to be every available beer he can get from Mikkeller and Olfabrikken, along with several other tasty Danish micros. Also plenty of goodies from Norway and Swede producers. His lambic selection is also world class, with the Lou Pepes and Selection Lambic. He has a special relationship with Struise and gets their beers before anyone else. And of course, the service really can't possibly get any better, with an expert there at all times.

Found this shop while browsing around on BeerFly.

The shop is really small but makes up for its size with very knowledgeable staff and a nice selection of brews. They seem to focus on beers from Belgium, Denmark and USA. If you're looking for danish micros this is _the_ place to visit while in copenhagen. If you ask them they usually also have vintage-versions of special beers available behind the counter. If you have problems deciding what beers to get, tell the owners about your preferences and they
will gladly assist you.

This is a place i will definitely visit again during my next visit to Copenhagen!

This place was recommended to me by a fellow BA. Looking for American IPAs I was surprised to find so many American brews. I found the selection Lambics even more intriguing and took advantage of the selection. The staff was very knowledgeable and willing to discuss beer. Everything was clean and nothing looked outdated. Everything I saw had at least a month of drinkability on it. The selection is very wide for such a small place, and the value is reasonable considering the selection. Highly recommended!

This establishment was recommended to me by several people and I can see why.

The staff was very helpful and spent about 15 minutes talking to us casually and enthusiastically about beer. We walked around looking at various styles and asked for his favorites of each kind. With a wall full of lambics, he suggested his favorites. He then proceeded to caution us that since we have never had a lambic before that it could be a surprising taste and we flat out probably will not like the flavor. For a store owner to warn us like that is not only the responsible thing to do, but it also shows that he actually cares about the product he sales and that he does not want to misrepresent his beer.

The store is smaller than I expected, tucked away just beside a 7-11, but there were plenty of beers to choose from at around 250 Danish and foreign microbrewery beers. The prices were maybe only a few Dkr more than at the local stores all over the area for a few of the more common beers. I gave it a 4.5 for selection only because I have not seen all the establishments in CPH and because you are not able to get some of the more common beers (although I don't know why you would want to).

The store consists of metal racks and walls. Nothing fancy, but I would say that for a beer store it achieves its purpose well and that is why I gave it a 5 for quality (who needs fancy wall paintings when buying beer?).

This is one of the best places to buy beer in Cph., if not the best. Have a substantial selection of lambics, american imports (Avery, Great Divide, Rogue, Brooklyn), danish micros (Mikkeller, Ølfabrikken, Herslev) and most of the trappist beers at fairly resonable prices. Even imports the great beers of the small Struise brewery including the classic Pannepot. 200+ beers is available. The beers are stocked by style making the shop easy to navigate. The owners Jeppe and Michael and their staff is knowledgable and helpful. Highly recommended.
